Amethyst is Awesome for so many Great Reasons:

  • It’s Abundant
  • It’s Purple
  • It comes in many Shades

In fact, Amethyst is SO Popular, it’s the #1 Gemstone Sold in America (Other than Diamond).

Beautiful Hues range from Light Purple, to Dark give Amethyst so much Versatility in Jewelry and Designs.

  1. Awww – this is the first time I’ve even been just a little disappointed with a post! Nothing about the great places where it’s found, or the most regal, gorgeous, deep “grape jelly purple” amethysts with flashes of reds and blues that only come from Siberia? The royal tiaras and other pieces in the hands of several royal families that are so treasured for their beauty? No pictures of any of the amazing amethyst geodes that have been found, that are so huge they need “three men and a boy” to lift them?
Geez…this is my birthstone, yes, but even if it wasn’t, I’d still adore it, and I have a ton of it!

    • LOL Yes it was a quick post for all those Amethyst Shoppers looking for the Birthstone. My other Amethyst post has more info and pics. :) Grape Jelly sounds wonderful. -Richard
