I’m Scared For YOU!
The World of Jewelry is Turning towards “Sterling Silver” more and more.
And Why Not?
Silver is a Cheap Metal that’s Easy to Work with.
But I WARN you…
Never, EVER…
Buy A Silver (.925) Engagement Ring!
For Silver is a Soft Metal that’s NOT Good for Holding in any Diamonds or Gemstones (Like this Particular Silver Engagement Ring HERE!)
Silver is So Soft that you can Literally Bend it with your own Two Fingers.
And when you Wear it, the Metal gets Warmed by your Hands and the Metal gets SOFTER!
(Ever Notice how Silver Rings Oval out and Bend at the Bottom?)
It’s NOT Ideal or Secure for Holding in any Precious Gems or Diamonds.
They’ll Fall out and be LOST!
And that’s Not Cool for an Engagement Ring that’s Supposed to Last you a Lifetime!
Plus, Silver Tarnishes and Oxidates with the Air. It’ll turn a Dingy, Dark Color and leave Green or Black Stains on your Fingers, Skin and Clothing.
Silver will Scratch Easily as well!
It’ll Break, Dull Up, and just be a Waste of a Ring that’s meant to be “The RING“.
Silver is Perfect as a Fashion Ring, a Fun Ring, something Cheap and Cute, but NEVER as an Official Engagement Ring.
Buy her the Real Stuff!
I Recommend 14kt White Gold the MOST (But you can also find Engagement Rings in Stainless Steel, and Titanium as well).
All those are more Durable Metals that won’t Tarnish, Fade or Bend.
Silver is Cool, and Cheap, but for a Bridal Ring…
It just Doesn’t WORK!
P.S. Most Cheaper Rings like this come with CZ’s (Cubic Zirconia) instead of Genuine Diamonds.
I Don’t Recommend that either! :)
But I DO Recommend these Awesome Engagement Rings at James Allen!
Cheers!
That first engagement ring in “Sterling Silver” isn’t really even real Sterling silver at all! If you pick through the fine print, it’s actually just “silver plated” to quote them!! And where it’s supposed to tell you specifics on the ring in some little chart, it doesn’t list what kind of metal it’s made from, or even what kind of stone! Even though the listing itself says it’s a CZ, on the chart it’s just listed as “N/A”! THAT’S a real stinker all right. And when I looked through the ratings, one gal submitted two photos showing how the plating was already rubbing off completely, and exposing the ‘pot metal’ underneath! Ick. What a waste of time, money, and effort! Typical cheap Chinese crap.
I wouldn’t even buy that for a travel ring, to take the place of the real deal on vacation. I’ve got better in real 14kt white and yellow gold, in nice, heavy, well made mountings, (from back before the gold market went nuts) and decent CZ I’ve had for years and years that still sparkles beautifully, and won’t wear the finish off of. I’m sure the white gold pieces are rhodium plated, but since I don’t wear them every day, I’ve never even had to have that redone!
This is a real mess. Not even worth the postage it would cost to send it back!
All I can do is laugh at this… Too funny! Very true though. I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole (except to smash it). :)
