What Does Good Mean?
Usually “Good“, right?
Nice, Satisfactory, Admirable…
But usually Just “Good!”
As in…
“How Are You?“
“Good!”
“How Was The Soup?“
“Good!”
“How Was Work?“
“Good!”
“What Did You Think About The Movie?“
“Good!”
(Doesn’t Make You Want to See it!)
So it’s NOT GREAT! NOT FANTASTIC… Just Good!
Good is Good, but with Diamonds, Good is Questionable. It’s a Middle of the Road Cut, an Average Grade, Basic…
With a “Good” Cut, your Diamond will Look Fine… Or Maybe Not.
You Never Know
It Could Face up Blah. Dark. Dull. It Could Lack Sparkle, Brilliance and Fire.
In my Eyes, “Good” should be Renamed “OKAY“.
Because when you see the Word “Good” on a Diamond Report, you think Great…
But that’s Deceiving…
As in this Example Diamond Below (Which is an SI2, G, Good Cut Diamond)…
Good is the Middle Grade
GIA has 5 Cut Grades for Diamonds. They are:
- Excellent
- Very Good
- Good
- Fair
- Poor
Good is Dead Center
Which also Means, it Could Look Better, it Could Look Worse. It all Depends on the Actual Stone and the other Diamond Traits like Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight.
Good is Just Good, Not Fabulous!
So Which Diamond would you Prefer?
A Good Diamond, or a Great Diamond?
Compare a “Good” Cut Grade to an “Excellent” Cut Grade Below…
Eye Opener, isn’t it?
That’s a Noticeable Visual Difference.
The Excellent Diamond (Which is an SI2, G, Excellent Cut Diamond HERE) looks like a Million Bucks!
It BLINGS!
It makes the “Good” Diamond look Mediocre.
Personally, I would Never Purchase a Good Cut, no matter what the Price.
Good is NOT Good Enough!
I would Shoot for “Excellent” 100% of the time.
Now That’s Excellent!

They ROCK!
Because Diamond Sparkle is Absolutely Related to How Great the Diamond is Cut. The Better the Cut, the Better the Dance of Light.
Not only will an Excellent Cut make the Diamond Sparkle like a Thousand Stars in the Sky, but it will also make it Appear Bigger and Whiter as well.
