Great minds think alike! THAT cushion cut ~ the first one ~ is on MY favorites list!! I absolutely adore that stone. It is THE best combination of characteristics there is for SUCH a fabulous price!! I can’t hardly believe that a stone that faces up like it does, looking SOOOO much larger than a round of the same criteria, can be had for such a price!! It’s enough to make you start looking for a “catch” of some kind! No catch ~ except for being the first one in line to “catch” it by grabbing it up before someone else does!
And that 1-¾ carat whopper for the same money? Wow wow wow! What a great find!!
Make sure you’re ready for the winter blast that’s heading down this weekend from Canada!! Stay safe, and stay warm! (And y’all please remember to leave some milk, eggs and bread behind in the store for the next guy, would ya? Its storms like this that get remembered as “The Great French Toast Crisis”!! We appreciate it!!)
LOL “The Great French Toast Crisis”!! Now that’s a Headline! :)
You’ll notice those three items are the first things to disappear from the store shelves, right?? So far so good for us at this point. We’ve got quite a bit of snow on the ground compared to last week, but nothing like other areas north of us! And more on the way tonight!
And, I gotta say, after having survived the “Great Blizzard of 78” living less than 2 hours south of Chicago, that if you can live through THAT, everything else is velvet! We lived in a very cool apartment that was the entire second floor of a large house, and we could have easily stepped out our front living room window on to the snow that was drifted up underneath after all the blowing and snowing had stopped!! Had to get friends from another part of town to come dig out our front door! Fortunately, I had had the inspiration to do our grocery shopping two days before, so we were fine on that. We had a kitchen full of food, and two talented “scratch cooks!” Of course, being 1978, we had NO clue what we were in for weatherwise, since the technology back then was definitely bordering on “primitive!” In fact, I will never forget the Chicago weather forecaster on TV, who proclaimed with great assurance, “NO significant accumulation expected!” That is a direct quote!
If you’re not familiar with that particular event, Google for images for “The Blizzard of 1978” and see what we dealt with!
It was a real eye-opener, especially to a 20 year old newlywed, recently arrived on September 1st, who had been “born and bred” on the Southeast coast of Virginia, right on the Chesapeake Bay! Man oh man ~ what a welcome that was!!
Wow! You know, Amazon sells books on the Blizzard of 78. Might be for some good reading and remembering. Not to mention the I Survived the Blizzard of 78 T-Shirt! :) -Richard
