80% of all Men will tell you one thing about Diamonds:
They Suck!
Now granted, that's a statistic that I just made up, but I believe it's true.
Men come into the Jewelry Store to buy a Diamond and they always have that same painful looks on their faces. You know the kind, the "Get in there and buy me a Diamond or else" look!
I can understand their fear. Diamonds are extremely complicated, expensive and totally foreign to Men. Women know Jewelry, Men don't! Men aren't supposed to know crazy things about Prongs and Bead Setting and Symmetry! Bah!
Dread and Fear
Just about every Man comes into the store filled with dread and fright. They know they're going to spend an arm and a leg. They know the Jeweler's going to try to rip them off. They know they'll choose the wrong Diamond and the wrong mounting. It's useless! They're just going to mess things up.
I hear it all the time from Men. They'd rather be working on the car or playing baseball, anything other than looking into a silly little microscope at a stupid little Diamond!
It's Just a Rock
To Men, that Diamond is nothing more than a Rock in the Earth. But they also know that Women WANT that rock!
Horrors!
Not to mention the fact that he'll be working for the next 2 years just to pay it off! Yeck! It's no wonder why Diamonds suck!
All that Clarity and Color Crap is for the Birds! Certification, Culet Size, Girdle Thickness??? It goes in one ear and out the other. Can you blame them?
There is an easier way...
Is there an easy way to buy Diamonds? Is it possible not to spend a fortune doing so? Are Men endlessly bound to pull their hair out?
The Answer: Yes and No!
Look at it this way. It can be as easy as you want it, or as tough as you want it. Only you can make that decision. Just know, you don't have to spend your life's savings to buy a Diamond. Just buy the best Diamond that your money can buy and you'll be okay. (Read: Diamond Crash Course for some good pointers on what to look for.)
Learn the 4 C's
No matter what, you're going to have to learn about the 4C's. There's no way around it. You could blindly just buy a Diamond, but you're sure to get crap. And kicking and screaming won't help any! The 4C's are the difference between an ugly Diamond that's dull and dark and has no shine, and a beautiful Diamond that will light up her eyes with a Million sparkles. It's your choice! Suck it up!
To you, that Diamond may be a rock, but to her it's the everlasting hope for a perfect Wedding, a wonderful Marriage, and a fairy tale life. Don't screw it up!
Diamonds Do Suck
While it may be opinion that Diamonds do suck, it's only because there's a lot to learn and a lot to spend. But it's just something that you have to do. Something else you have to master. If you can handle fixing the leaky kitchen sink, I'm sure you can handle a little Diamond Education. A little 101 is not going to kill you!
So do Diamonds really suck?
No, not really! Not understanding them is what sucks!
Once you become knowledgeable in Diamonds and see the rare beauty in them, you'll grow to appreciate them a little bit more. You just have to give Diamonds a chance. You'll see there was nothing to be scared of. In fact, you may even be surprised at how fascinating and interesting they are. Plus, a little extra effort and some learning on your part will keep you from getting ripped off also. That you can't beat!
Only then will you see that it wasn't the Diamonds that sucked...
It was just you!
