GIRLS THAT HATE DIAMONDS!

WHAT JEWELRY DO YOU BUY THE GIRL THAT HATES DIAMONDS?

Girl Hates Diamonds?
They say that Diamonds are a Girl's best friend, but believe me, while this is true for the most part (the bigger the better), there are some Women who just Hate Diamonds. They want nothing to do with them and would never be caught dead with them on.

Why? Maybe because it's what all the other Girls are wearing? Maybe they go against the majority vote? (Rebels) Or maybe it's because Diamonds are just too expensive and materialistic items don't phase them. It could also be that some Women just don't feel safe wearing such expensive jewelry.

"For $8000 they'll cut your finger off!"

Can you blame them?

Any way you look at it, I have had some Ladies come in and want to look at something other than a Diamond for an Engagement Ring. Their soon to be (lucky) Husbands couldn't be happier, because chances are it's going to save them lots of money. (Some Guys just about hop up and down in the store!)

What is the Alternative?

What stone do you get a Girl that Hates Diamonds?

The most logical choice would be Corundum. (Which is Sapphires or Rubies!)

Hands down this is the best stone to use instead of a Diamond. There are a lot of great reasons to use Corundum too.

Corundum is extremely durable. It's a 9 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness, while Diamond is a 10. So Sapphires and Rubies are durable enough to wear everyday for a lifetime.

The neat thing about Corundum is that it comes in just about every color of the rainbow. (Interesting fact about Corundum. Every single color (Blues, Greens, Yellows...) of Corundum is called a Sapphire except for the Red ones. Red Corundum is called Ruby!) So if you want a White Stone (or clear, void of any color), you'll find it in Sapphire. Some people actually mistake a White Sapphire for a Diamond. It's a good substitute.

You could go with a dashing bright Yellow Sapphire, or a deep dark Ruby! All great choices. Greens, Oranges, Pinks, Sapphire comes in some beautiful choices and colors. Sapphires sparkle, they are durable, they are easy to set and they really do look great as Engagement Rings or Solitaires!

Other Alternatives

"Are there any other stones that you'd recommend for an Engagement Ring?"

To be honest: NO!

None that I'd recommend.

Anything other than Corundum will get you into a softer Gemstone. (like Emeralds or Garnets or Tourmalines) And a softer Gemstone means that that stone will wear down quicker, chip, dull up or even break. (Sad for an Engagement Ring!)

Granted, this can be done with Sapphires or Rubies as well, but it's much, much harder to do and as an everyday ring that you'll wear for the rest of your life you'll find that Sapphires or Rubies are more dependable and you won't have to baby the stone.

No Guarantees

Plus, there are no guarantees in life anyway. Even Diamonds are not shatter-proof. With just the right amount of pressure or blow, you can chip or crack a Diamond. But the good thing is, the more durable or harder the stone is on the Mohs Scale the better the odds of not breaking it.

So if you're looking for a great alternative to the traditional Diamond Engagement Ring, then take a look at Corundum. She may Hate Diamonds, but those Sapphires and Rubies will look just as good on that special day when you say "I DO". Plus, you'll save a good chunk of change in the process. And that makes any Bride and Groom a happy couple.

Enjoy!
