The cool thing about the 4 C's of Diamonds, is that it will teach you how two Diamonds of the exact same size,
can be priced thousands of dollars different.
The 4 C's can be Simple
The 4 C's can help you determine Color with the naked eye. Or, they can be very technical, like dealing with Table Percentages and Girdle Thickness!
But above all else, they are here to help customers understand the basic concepts of Diamonds and Diamond Grading.
The 4 C's are in fact, the official word!
Devised by G.I.A.
The 4 C's were written and devised by G.I.A. (Gemological Institute of America) in 1949 to help standardize Diamonds in the Diamond Grading Industry. G.I.A. set the rules and guidelines of determining the specifics when dealing with the Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight.
Most Well Know Standards
Today, the 4C's are the most well known set of standards in every Jewelry Store. They are what everyone across America uses to grade their Diamonds with.
The 4C's strive to give people clarity when dealing with such small wealthy objects mined from the crust of the Earth.
Truth is, you may never have enough time to truly learn everything there is to know about Diamonds. But if you read about the 4 C's and study the Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight, maybe then you'll appreciate and understand the fascination people have had with Diamonds since the dawn of day.
The intrigue they bring to thousands are awe-inspiring!
I'm going to take each category one by one. I'll give you the basics needed to understand them, yet still keep it simple enough for anyone to learn.
