ADD-A-PEARL NECKLACE MAKING SECRETS!

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO MAKE AN ADD-A-PEARL NECKLACE?

How to Save Money on Add-A-Pearl Necklaces!
Here are some great points about Add-A-Pearl Necklaces that everyone must know.

Individually Knotted

Make sure you get them individually knotted. What that means is that the pearl stringer ties a knot in between each and every pearl.

That knot does a couple great things: It keeps the pearls separated slightly so they don't rub against each other and break off the outer shell...

Keeps the Pearls Safe

The Knot also keeps your pearls safe in case you accidentally break the necklace. If the strand or cord breaks, only one pearl falls off the strand, instead of 40 pearls rolling all over the floor!

Get them knotted! It's a must!

Pearl Consistency

Keep your pearls consistent! This is something people always forget...

Take the strand of pearls with you when you purchase more, so the Jeweler can match them up and your pearls will all look alike.

Stay away from Graduated Pearls

I would stay away from graduating the sizes of your pearls. Some people like to have bigger pearls in the center, then having them get smaller and taper at the ends of the necklace.

Graduated Pearls don't look bad. But when you're wearing the necklace, that big pearl will never be centered on your neck, it will always be riding up and it'll drive you crazy straightening it.

If you get all the same size pearls, you won't have to worry about that maddening problem.

Best Size of Pearl to use

The best size of pearls to get for an Add-A-Pearl necklace are 5mm. 5mm pearls are perfect, because 5mm is what I would call an every day pearl size. 5mm pearls are not too big and not too small, they are the perfect mm to wear every day. You'll get more use out of them!

In Summary

Knot your pearls individually, make it an 18" necklace (with a 14kt gold chain and clasp), get matching pearls in size, shape and color. (slight pink, or rose tone is the best) String them every couple of years to save money, and wear the necklace often.

Wearing the necklace is better for the pearls than you know. The oils from your skin will keep the pearls looking shiny and lustrous and pretty. Packing them away in a box will dry them out and make them turn yellow, ugly and crack.

And lastly, don't forget about making that matching Pearl Bracelet!
