I was writing up a Jewelry Repair Slip one day, when I had a customer quickly approach me. She says to me,
"I want to return these earrings!" She slams an Earring Box on the counter in front of me.
So right off the bat, I'm ticked. I reply, "Can I ask why you want to return them?" Now I'm opening the box to look at the Earrings she wants to return.
So she says,"Because my earlobes are too fat!" I exhaled, smirked and said to her while looking up at her earlobes..."Now really, how fat could your earlobes really---------" I stopped short. She had the fattest earlobes I've ever seen. She was right. They were the thickness of my pinky. There's no way a normal earring post would ever make it through those puppies. I was shocked!
So what do you do when your lobes are really thick? Most people would give up on wearing Earrings. But going without, is NOT the answer. In fact, the answer is quite simple. People don't even know an option exists. But it does. You get the Jeweler to make the Earring Posts longer. Really! It only takes a day or two. They elongate the post by adding more Gold to the end. That way it'll be long enough to go through your ears. It's a wonderful solution. (see pic)
The whole procedure won't cost much either. It's simple, painless, it's the perfect remedy. So my customer had her Earring Posts made longer. She was then able to wear the Earrings for the very first time and loved it. She ended up being so delighted she left the store smiling.
Remember folks, when it comes to Jewelry, almost anything is possible. They can custom make, alter, or fit just about any design to fulfill your needs. No matter what! Why deprive yourself and go without the luxury and beauty of Jewelry?
Now... What to do about your Fat Head?
