Out with the old and in with the new.
Let me say right now that I am not a big fan of Mother's Rings.
Mother's Rings used to be so Generic, so Boring, so Old looking... (Read: Ugly Mother's Rings!)
I only have one word to sum them up...
Ugliness!
Really!
To me, Mother's Rings (and Pendants) were so Ugly looking. Beyond Ugly. Not to offend anyone who has one of these styles, but YUCK!

Blah! It's hard to believe that people actually bought these Cookie-Cutter Rings.
Times are so Different Now!
The past couple of years have really changed my opinion and feelings about Mother's Rings.
Why?
Because of this...
Personalization
Personalization and Design I should say.
Mother's Rings are not what they used to be. Now, they are Stream Lined, Elegant and Beautiful.

ArtCarved
One particular company that I'll highlight is Artcarved. (I'm sure there are plenty more designers out there) Keep in mind that I am NOT affiliated with Artcarved in anyway, I just like their product.
Artcarved is good at what they do. They make an excellent line of Class Rings and an equally impressive line of Mother's Rings.
What I like best about Artcarved Mother's Rings is the Personalization factor. You can have your child's name engraved right on the ring, right next to their Birthstone. That's a great feature. Plus, it carries a lot more meaning than just a couple of gemstones do.
Styles
The styles of Mother's Rings are vast. They have more than 25 different styles to choose from (some are shown in the pictures above).
Styles are broken up into 2 Categories: Traditional and Contemporary.
No matter what they call them, I say they all look Cool, Modern and Sleek.

You can get these rings made in either 10kt or 14kt Yellow Gold or White Gold, along with the BRAND NEW set of Sterling Silver Mother's Rings (shown above)! They all look great in any Metal you choose.
Engraving
All of their styles can be personalized with your Child's Name or Birth Date (as shown in the images). The length of the names can be anywhere from 0-10 Characters long (The Irresistible Mother's Ring can hold up to 14 Characters).
Because you can get 0 Characters, this means: You don't need to get it personalized if you don't want to. You can leave it blank!
Gemstones
The Gems that they use for their rings can be either Genuine or Synthetic Stones. I ONLY recommend Genuine. Synthetic will Dull up, Scratch and Break easily. Buy Genuine!

Sizing
Artcarved gives you a FREE PDF Ring Sizer that you can download from their website. You Print it out, Cut it out and Size your finger with it... BUT...
Here's my Advice:
DON'T USE IT!
Paper Ring Sizers are for crap! You can't size your finger with paper accurately.
Instead, swing into your local Jewelry Store to get your correct ring size. Do this BEFORE you order, that way they can design it in the correct size. Or you can always order the default size, which is a usually a 6 or 6 1/2 and get it sized later.
Ordering
You can't order directly from Artcarved. You have to order from Authorized Artcarved Dealers. To find the closest Dealer near you, go to the Artcarved Website, select "Jeweler Locator" at the top and find a Jeweler in your area that carries their Mother's Rings.
Order Early
Keep in mind that you need to order these rings in advance if you want it for Mother's Day. Artcarved usually takes 2 weeks to fulfil their orders. After all, they have to Make the ring, select your specific Gemstones, Size the ring and Engrave any Names or Dates on it. That doesn't happen overnight! :)
Check with your local Jeweler to find the exact cut off dates for ordering.
The bottom line is, if you MUST buy a Mother's Ring, make sure you get a Personalized Designer Mother's Ring instead. It makes a World of difference.
