Things to beware of when purchasing a Pinky Ring for a Man or Woman? Here we go... If your Pinky Ring has
lots of prongs, expect to catch them
all the time.
You'll catch them on everything... clothes, coats, hair, pantyhose,
and I feel sorry for your dog!So when you're considering getting a Pinky Ring with Gemstones or Diamonds in it, make sure they have low prongs or even better, get stones that are bead-set, pave set, or channel set. Stones that are low and set down into the mounting will save you lots of headaches in the future.
And if you do want to wear Gems in your Pinky Ring, try to have them sitting on one side of the ring (see the picture of the Man's Two-Tone Ring with the Diamond closer to the one side), that way when you wear the ring, the Diamond or Gemstone will be on the inside towards your fingers and not on the outside of the ring where you'll bang it more often. Just a little thing to consider, but it helps greatly! If the stones are on the outside of the ring, you'll be knocking stones out and chipping them all the time.
Another thing to consider when buying Pinky Rings is the type of Gold. I normally don't recommend 10kt Gold because of the low Gold content, but I'll make an exception just for Pinky Rings! 10kt is actually more durable than 14kt, and for a Pinky Ring, 10kt works out more than perfect! The more durable the better!
And on a final note about Pinky Rings, when you get it sized to fit your little finger, get it sized a little snug. You see, your pinky finger doesn't have a big knuckle like your other fingers. Pinky's are normally thin and smooth. If you're wearing your pinky ring and your hands get cold or wet, that ring will come right off and you'll never know it. Get it sized so it grabs your knuckle and the folds of skin. You'll be happy you did because you'll never have your beautiful ring slip off and disappear!
And there you have it, the secrets to buying a Perfect Pinky Ring!
