The best Jewelry Discount Sale Price to get is 50% off or more. 60-70% is great. I can live with that kind of sale.
But it comes with a hitch.
Buyer beware of this one. Some Jewelers jack up the price to accommodate that great sale price. Turns out, you may not be getting that great of a deal after all. Trust me, I've seen it happen.
It ain't pretty!I've also seen stores sell things at half-off! Not bad, but they sell those things at half-off EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE YEAR! No lie! It's always on sale for that price.
There is a lot of fraud out there. You have to proceed carefully and do a lot of shopping and comparing. That way you won't get suckered into those so called sales. You'll also be able to determine which Jewelers are marking their prices up ridiculously high. I would avoid those Jewelers that gouge the public big time!
And here's one more big lesson to learn about those big sale prices that really are legit... The stuff Jewelers mark down 60-80% off, normally are marked down for a reason. Like it's old inventory that's been sitting around for ten years. Or it's a low quality stone. Or it's 10kt Gold. It could be a Created Stone or a Synthetic. Could be the Stone has a small chip in it. Or the Merchandise is dented or damaged. Jewelers normally won't sell it for that low unless there's something wrong with it. Look carefully, cause those Sales are ALWAYS FINAL! When the Jewelers are to the point that all they want to do is "DUMP" that piece, then make sure you know you may be getting "DUMPED" on!
Now I'm not saying there are not REAL sales out there in the Jewelry Industry. I'm just saying, that people expect a sale price on Jewelry and Jewelers are going to give it to them. Simple as that. It may be an illusion, but it's just one of those things. Perceived or not. We want to feel like we've made a good decision. We want to feel like we've saved a lot of money and are happy about it. And if takes a Jewelers Red Tag Deal to do that, then by all means do so! But keep your eyes open, because some Jewelers will take advantage of that fact and really stick it to you. As long as you know going in, not all sale prices are up to par, you'll be fine! The best advise... Shop and compare!!!
And if you end up getting a great deal in the long run... Good for you!
