The first time I ever saw a 24k Gold Dipped Rose, I said to myself...
What the Heck?
It looked like a blob of Gold. I won't lie.
At first glance, the rose looked so shiny that I couldn't even tell what it was.
Only after closer inspection could I see that it resembled a rose.
Is it a Real Rose?
Our Jewelers actually took one of these Gold Roses and put it to the test.
They had to prove the validity of the claim, right? Is it a Real Rose?
I thought that the Jeweler would carefully cut a small section of the rose so we could peek inside...
NOPE!
He took the Rose and bashed it up against the Jeweler's Desk as hard as he could.
I about crapped my pants. Pieces of the Stem broke off, a Leaf went flying and sections of the destroyed Petal hung loose.
So much for that Rose!
So what was Inside?
A Real Natural Rose with a 12" Stem!
Believe it or not, there really was a genuine rose inside the shell. I was impressed.
I could actually see the veins in the rose and the details of the leaves. If you look close enough you can see them too.
Every Rose is Different!
No two Roses will look the same. AND... Since a lot of companies now make these Gold Dipped Roses, they will all look different as well. Some will be more globbier than others.
I have seen some really bad Gold Roses (like the initial one I saw), and I've seen some better looking Gold Dipped Roses like the one shown below. You may want to check different Jewelers out and see who carries the best looking Roses.
Gold Roses Sell like Hot Cakes
The first couple of years or so, Gold Roses (and also the Silver and Platinum Plated Roses) took the industry by storm. We couldn't keep these roses in stock. We actually had to order months in advance (Valentine's stock had to be ordered in October). We had no choice. We couldn't run out of Roses for Sweetest Day or the big one: Mother's Day!
Some people love these Roses, others sneer. One customer actually said, and I quote:
"They look like something you would see at a Funeral in an Elvis Chapel!"
lol To each their own!
Love them or Hate them! That's just the way it goes.
Gold Rose Prices
On average Gold Dipped Roses sell from anywhere between $69 and $99. It all depends on the company and the process. Like I said, some Roses will look better than others! If you buy Cheap ones, they will look Cheap and Tacky!

The awesome thing about these Roses, is the fact they do come in a nice little presentation box (Some with a cut-out window), which looks cool and helps protect the rose at the same time.
Gold Rose Vases
One thing I will mention, is that you should pick up a Vase for the Rose.
These Roses are pretty top heavy and may tip over if you put them in a regular flower vase that's not properly weighted. Gold Rose Vases are flat on the bottom and thick so that they keep the rose standing upright!
Prices on vases will vary. Usually they run around $9.00 to $15.00. Every manufacturer will have different looking vases and some even have a Gold Rose right on the vase!
Gold / Platinum Rose Buds
They also make Rose Buds, which are Roses that aren't open yet! (Not in bloom!)
These are pretty cool. They are dainty and smaller than the full sized Roses and tend to not look so gaudy.
You can get them in both 24kt Pure Gold and also Silver or Platinum Dipped. Take a look at the Picture.
Prices on these usually start around $69 and up.
