ASK THE JEWELER QUESTIONS & ANSWERS!

READER'S QUESTIONS ANSWERED HERE!

QUESTION FROM SHARON IN TALLAHASSEE , FL:

My Pearl fell out of my Ring. I have the Pearl.

What type of Glue is used to reset the Pearl?

ANSWER FOR SHARON:

While some Jewelers use a special Epoxy Glue, most Jeweler just use Super Glue.

They gently scrape all the old glue off the Pearl, make sure the Pearl is clean from any debris, (Be very careful you don't harm or chip the Pearl) put some glue on a toothpick and dab it in the Pearl hole and Post on the Ring.

Don't use too much glue because glue will get all over the Pearl. Just enough to secure the Pearl well!

Jewelers then clamp the Pearl down with strong tweezers to apply pressure to the Pearl while it sets.

Once it starts to dry, set the Pearl Ring aside for at least 24 hours before you wear it.

Good luck with the glue, it's fun stuff! :)
