HOW TO FIX YOUR WATCH SO IT CHANGES AT MIDNIGHT INSTEAD OF NOON

This is a very common problem that people have:
Wrong date change!
Their watch day (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat), and the watch date (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31), changes to the NEXT day and date at 12 NOON instead of 12 MIDNIGHT, when it’s supposed too.
The reason is quite simple, the watch gears (dials, cogs) work on a 24 hour cycle (actual hours in a day), versus just 12 hours (1-12).
If you were to open up your watch, and look at the movement (guts of the watch), you’d see something showing the days and date, as in the example image below…
Granted every watch is different, but you get the meaning.
When your watch switches at noon instead of at Midnight, that means that your watch cycle is set 12 hours too fast. (or 12 hours too slow, depending on how you look at it).
Fixing this is easy.
All you have to do is to turn the hour hand of your watch, 12 hours more (which is 12 hours ahead).
So if it’s 2 o’clock in the afternoon, spin the hour hand ahead 12 more hours until it reads 2 o’clock again. If it’s 11:30 in the morning, spin it all the way around again to 11:30 once more.
It’s that simple.
Now, depending on when you do this (what part of the day or night), you’ll probably also have to readjust the day and date again. But don’t worry, the hour hand is now set properly, so once you reset the correct day and date, then everything will work perfectly, as it should.
Spanish anyone?
Do note that if your watch day is showing Spanish days: DOM – DOMINGO (Sunday), LUN – LUNES (Monday), MAR – MARTES (Tuesday), MER – MIERCOLES (Wednesday), JUEV – JUEVES (Thursday), VER – VIERNES (Friday), SAB – SABADO (Saturday), instead of English, just pull the crown out, and rotate the day ahead once, so that English word is showing. That way when the day rotates at midnight, the proper language will still be displayed.
That’s that!
You watch is now set right and come 12 midnight, everything will flip over and change according to plan.
It couldn’t be simpler.

My Hamilton automatic changes the day at noon, and the date at midnight. The day and date are not on the same schedule. I do not know how this happened. Is there any fix for this?

My Timex expedition starts changing the date at 7 pm in the evening and by 11 pm it slowly completes the process of changing both date and day to the next date and day!!!! which is crazy as this should be happening after midnight!!!!

Hi Jayanta, it sounds like you’re going to need a new movement. I would take it into a jewelry store, for them to send it out to get an estimate to fix. That way you can find out what’s truly wrong with it, and how much it will be to fix. You’ll be able to either tell them “Yes, do the work”, or “No, send it back”. -Richard

Hi Rick. That I don’t know. I would call their repair center, or send it back to the manufacturer. Look them up online, most have a phone number you can call for more info.
Hello, i have a V33F-6A10 (watch with day, date, month and 24-hour sun/moon window) that changes day and date seemingly around noon instead of midnight. I’m suspecting my 24-hour dial might have drifted, do you know if there’s a way to fix this without opening the watch?
You should be able to change the cycle by simply advancing the hands 12 hours ahead. Pull the stem out to the second notch to turn the hands 12 hours in advance to move them from 6am to 6pm (as an example) and it should be fixed. -Richard
My Titan only date watch , the date has been change regular 12:15 am , not at perfectly 12:00 am . Is it ok or not? If it’s ok then ok . If not , tell me how to set the auto date change at 12:00 am perfectly.
Hi S. Saha, some watches are weird and do not change at exactly midnight. Some are a little slow, but 15 minutes is real slow. Sounds like you might need a cleaning or a new movement. I would take it to a jeweler or watch maker to have it checked out. -Richard
