Much, Much Better than just taking the Jeweler&#8217;s Word for it!<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Truth is, Many Consumers do just take the Jeweler&#8217;s Expertise, Knowledge, and Word. <strong>They are the &#8220;Experts&#8221; after all!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>The Quality stated MUST be the Quality Sold! Right?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nThe Jewelry Store goes so far as to even put that Quality in Writing!<\/p>\n<p><h2>So how can it be Wrong?<\/h2>\n<p>\nIf they say it&#8217;s a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesallen.com\/loose-diamonds\/round-cut\/?CaratFrom=1.00&#038;CaratTo=15.00&#038;Color=F&#038;Clarity=VS2&#038;Cut=Ideal,Excellent,TrueHearts&#038;PriceFrom=200&#038;PriceTo=999000&#038;Sort=Price,%20DefaultOrder&#038;ViewsOptions=Images&#038;showAdvanced=show&#038;Polish=EX,ID&#038;Symmetry=EX,ID&#038;Lab=GIA&#038;Flour=None,Negligible&#038;DepthFrom=45.0&#038;DepthTo=80.0&#038;TableFrom=50.0&#038;TableTo=83.0\">VS2, F Diamond<\/a>, and they list that on the Receipt, and also give you a Full Appraisal on the Item, then it must be Truthful, <strong>RIGHT<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p><h2>Nope! Not Always!<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong>You Know Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nBecause they know that you&#8217;ll Accept the Paperwork, their Word, and their &#8220;<strong>Good Deal<\/strong>&#8220;, and <strong>you&#8217;ll Never Question it<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nYou&#8217;ll shove the paperwork in a drawer or in your safe and forget about it.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>You&#8217;ll NEVER Verify the Quality you Bought!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><h2>EVER!<\/h2>\n<p>\nYou&#8217;ll take what they give you as Factual and you&#8217;ll Never Think Twice.<\/p>\n<p>\nLet me Repeat, <strong>just because the Store puts the Quality in Writing doesn&#8217;t mean it&#8217;s the Truth!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nEspecially when the FTC says Diamond Quality can be off by <strong>One Whole Grade one way or the other<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>So a J could really be a K<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><h2>An SI2 could really be an I1<\/h2>\n<p>\n&#8220;<strong>Ohhh, that&#8217;s why it Cost $1,000 Less than Everyone Else&#8230;<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Diamond-Grade-Bump.jpg\" alt=\"Diamond Grade Bumped!\" title=\"Diamond Grade Bumped!\" width=\"502\" height=\"325\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10109\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Diamond-Grade-Bump.jpg 502w, https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Diamond-Grade-Bump-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><h2>So What Should You Do?<\/h2>\n<p>\nIf you want to Buy a Diamond that&#8217;s <strong>NOT<\/strong> Certified&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Learn about Diamonds First!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B005MZ7BQY\/?tag=jewelry-secrets-20\">Microscope<\/a> the Inclusions. Compare the Stones. If the Price is Much, Much Cheaper than every other Store around, then it should <strong>Raise a Red Flag!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nIf the Diamond is truly what Quality they say it is,<strong> it should NOT Sell for Thousands Less<\/strong> than Everyone Else! <strong>That Would NEVER Happen! <\/strong> (Unless it&#8217;s an Online Store like <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesallen.com\/\">James Allen<\/a> who has <strong>No Overhead<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>\nThere&#8217;s <strong>a Reason why <\/strong>that Stone is Cheaper: <\/p>\n<p><h2>It&#8217;s a Cheaper Cut&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>\nIt Lacks Brilliance. <strong>The Color or Clarity is Exaggerated<\/strong>. The Diamond has <strong>Strong Fluorescence<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><h2>Something!<\/h2>\n<p>\nAnd of course, only Buy from a Reputable Jeweler. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbb.org\/us\/bbb-accredited-businesses\/\">Check the BBB<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><p>\nAnd even if you do Buy from them, still take the Stone to a <strong>Gem Appraiser<\/strong> and have them Double Check the Quality (Do this quickly while it&#8217;s still within the<strong> Return Policy<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p><h2>Verify what the Jeweler says<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong>Verify the Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat Weight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nNote that I Suggest <strong>a Gem Appraiser<\/strong> Versus just another Jeweler.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Why?<\/h2>\n<p>\nBecause the other Jeweler will more than likely try to Persuade you into Returning the Diamond and <strong>Buying one from them Instead<\/strong>. <strong>Competitors do this<\/strong>. They&#8217;ll Knock the Ring and say stuff like &#8220;It doesn&#8217;t look like an SI1 to me&#8221; or &#8220;You see that Noticeable Flaw, it&#8217;s Very, Very Visible&#8221; or &#8220;<strong>We could Sell you a Much Better Diamond for Less!<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s always a Touchy Topic when you get Competitors Involved to Verify your Purchase. <strong>They have something to Gain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nSo go to a Gem or Diamond Appraiser instead (<strong>look them up in the Phone Book<\/strong>). Someone who does nothing but Grade and Evaluate Diamonds and Gemstones.<\/p>\n<p>\nThey&#8217;ll give you an <strong>Unbiased Opinion<\/strong> as to what the Stone is and put it all in Writing.<\/p>\n<p><h2>But Seriously&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>\nYour Best Bet still, is to <strong>Just Buy Certified Diamonds instead!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesallen.com\/loose-diamonds\/round-cut\/?CaratFrom=1.00&#038;CaratTo=15.00&#038;Color=F,E,D&#038;Clarity=VS2,VS1,VVS2,VVS1,IF&#038;Cut=Ideal,Excellent,TrueHearts&#038;PriceFrom=200&#038;PriceTo=999000&#038;Sort=Price,%20DefaultOrder&#038;ViewsOptions=Images&#038;advancedParameter=Sort&#038;showAdvanced=show&#038;Polish=EX,ID&#038;Symmetry=EX,ID&#038;Lab=GIA&#038;Flour=None,Negligible&#038;DepthFrom=45.0&#038;DepthTo=80.0&#038;TableFrom=50.0&#038;TableTo=83.0\">Buy a Certified Loose Diamond<\/a> (<strong>GIA or AGS Graded<\/strong>), and have it Mounted after you Purchase it. You&#8217;ll be able to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B00EXPWU8S\/?tag=jewelry-secrets-20\">Loupe<\/a> this and Verify that this <strong>Diamond Matches the Report! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><h2>That&#8217;s the Best Way to get it in Writing<\/h2>\n<p>\nA Certified Stone will <strong>Protect you<\/strong>. Protect your <strong>Stone<\/strong>.
