If you’ve read any of my Posts here on Jewelry-Secrets<\/a>, you should know by now that I LOVE HAWAII!<\/strong> I VOW to Live there one day! :)<\/p>\n

And this last trip in February 2015, was my 6th Vacation Back to the Big Island (Hawaii), as well as the other Islands I’ve Visited: Kauai, Oahu, and Maui. <\/p>\n

\nAnd every time I go with a bunch of my Friends, we always collect Sea Glass! <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTrue Sea Glass that’s actually tumbled from the Ocean<\/strong> (and not the Fake Manufactured kind that you can Buy in Craft Stores<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\nReal Glass from Hawaii is SO COOL!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAnd I have TONS of Sea Glass that I’ve collected over the years… Take peek…<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\"Tons<\/p>\n

\nAnd every time I go to the Islands, I’m always on a hunt for NEW and COOL Jewelry<\/strong> to Blog about… Because that’s what I do! <\/strong>:)<\/p>\n

\nAnd this time, I wanted to do something Different and Special. Something that I’ve never done before…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take a Sea Glass Class and Make my own Jewelry!<\/h2>\n

\nAnd trust me, this was not an easy task. Way back in October <\/strong>I did a Google Search for “Jewelry Making Classes in Hawaii<\/strong>“. I looked at plenty of websites and just about gave up. There was nothing I could find…<\/p>\n

\nUntil I see a link in a Forum<\/strong> that actually talked about a Jewelry Class on the Big Island<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

WOW!<\/h2>\n

\nSo I check it out. It’s a company called “Da Bead Shop<\/strong>” in Kona <\/strong>(where I happened to be staying).<\/p>\n

\nI gave them a call<\/strong>. They were extremely friendly and I asked them if they actually did “Sea Glass Classes<\/strong>” (for I didn’t see it listed on their website). They said no… but they might know of someone who could be able to teach us. Boy was I interested…<\/strong> She said that she’d contact him and get back with me soon.<\/p>\n

\nAnd within a couple of weeks she called back and said that there is a Jeweler (SID) that does Wire Wrapping and would be willing to put together a Sea Glass Class<\/strong> for us. <\/p>\n

I was BEYOND HAPPY!<\/h2>\n

\nShe gave me his Name and Number and I called him.<\/p>\n

\nI explained to him what I was thinking about “Wrapping Wire around some of the Sea Glass that we found and hanging it on a Pendant or Bracelet<\/strong>“. He said he could do that! I told him I had 6<\/strong> people in our group (which is the Max size for a Class<\/strong>), and we talked about Dates, Times, Prices<\/strong>, and he said that he’d send me some Example Photos <\/strong>so we’d know what to expect. <\/p>\n

AWESOME!<\/h2>\n

\nSo the next week, he sends me an email and some photos of some creations he made with Sea Glass and Wire<\/strong>. I was STUNNED<\/strong>! They were better than I even envisioned. I LOVED IT!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo I Paid for the Class in advance, and on February 26th<\/strong>, 2015, at 1:00 pm, our Group went to “Da Bead Shop” in Kona, met Sid Nakamoto, and sat down in our (and their) very FIRST Sea Glass Class!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe Room held a Large Table, surrounded by Seats, and each Station had a Mat, Pliers, Wire, Beads, Shells, and other Examples.<\/p>\n

\n\"Hawaii<\/p>\n

\nAnd let me tell you, SID WAS WONDERFUL and CHARMING!<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nHe gave us a short Intro<\/strong>, then began Step by Step<\/strong> showing us how to Start and how to Wrap the Wire around the Glass (He’s been doing it for over 15 years<\/strong>). <\/p>\n

\nI thought it would be more Difficult than it was, but he went Slow, and Careful, and gave us Great Tips, Tricks, and Hints on what to do so it looked Beautiful and Professional. <\/p>\n

\nThe Class took a Couple of Hours<\/strong> and we each made Pendants that TOTALLY ROCKED!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nWe finished them off with a Loop or a Bail, put them on a Silver Chain<\/strong> or Black Cord<\/strong> and it was all very Fun and very COOL!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nHe took the time to Help us all, gave us Instructions and Directions, and we had a BLAST!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nUsing 20 Gauge Square Silver Wire around Sea Glass… IT’S INCREDIBLE!<\/strong><\/p>\n

And Now…<\/h2>\n

\nHere’s one of the Necklaces that our Group made, that, in my opinion, is very IMPRESSIVE<\/strong> considering the fact that we’ve never picked up a pair of Pliers before…<\/p>\n

\nHere’s another piece we made using a different Wire Wrapping Technique<\/strong>… <\/p>\n

This Sea Glass Pendant looks just like a Volcano<\/strong>… Talk about COOL<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

\nWe made some very Unique items, and we participated in something that very few people ever have… A Hawaiian Sea Glass Class!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe Store, and SID, can do other things as well, like Beads, Gemstones, Pearl Stringing, Rocks… (They have an Entire Jewelry Supply Store at your Disposal) But no matter what you use, it really is very COOL to MAKE your OWN!<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nI’ve been all around the Islands. Hiking, being a Foot away from Flowing Lava, Whale Watching, Zip-Lining, Flying in a Doorless Helicopter, seeing the Sunrise over the Volcano, and experiencing a Moon Glow… A What? A Moon Glow. It’s like a Glowing Circle that goes around the Moon… See it here… (not a Great Photo, but you get the point)<\/p>\n
