I’ve been Selling Jewelry<\/strong> since 1989<\/strong>, and do you know what the Best Part, or Perk of a Jewelry Salesperson<\/strong> is?<\/p>\n

JEWELRY!<\/h2>\n

Of course!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nOr, should I say more accurately:<\/p>\n

THE JEWELRY DISCOUNT!!!!<\/h2>\n

\nBeing able to Buy Jewelry at a Discount is Awesome for any Jewelry Lover<\/strong>. Not only can you Sell Jewelry and Make Good Commissions<\/strong> on it, but you can also Buy Jewelry at Deep Discounted Prices! <\/strong><\/p>\n

Actual Discounts Vary!<\/h2>\n

\nNow every Jewelry Store, Chain, Department Store, Kiosk, Boutique, and Independent Jeweler<\/strong> (Which is what I Work at) will Discount Diamonds and Jewelry differently<\/strong> (This is something you could Ask about when Applying for a Job). Some Places will give you 20% off<\/strong>, some Stores will give you 30% off, or more… And then some Places do it Entirely Different<\/strong>… <\/p>\n

\nSome Stores will give you the item at COST +30%<\/strong>, and if you’re Lucky, like I am, you may even find some Employers will give you Jewelry at COST!<\/strong> (meaning, what they Pay for it<\/strong> – they won’t make a Penny off you, it’s just Part of your Benefits<\/strong>) That’s Awesome! It certainly is a Nice Incentive to continue to Work for them. Because it’s Hard to Resist Purchasing anything at Cost. <\/p>\n

\nNow I’m sure the Store that I Work for is an Exception to the Rule<\/strong>, Most Places won’t let you Buy at Cost, but it just goes to Show you How Varied the Jewelry Discounts can be<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Payment Plans<\/h2>\n

\nMany Jewelers will allow you to Purchase these Discounted Items and Make Payments on them with No Interest<\/strong>. Sort of like a Free Charge Card!<\/strong> (Usually it’s taken Directly out of your Gross Earnings, which means you won’t even Pay Taxes on them!<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

The Higher up, the Bigger the Discount<\/h2>\n

\nMost Jewelry Stores that you work at will give you Bigger and Bigger Discounts as you go up the Ladder of Success<\/strong>. So a Salesperson will get one Discount, an Assistant Manager<\/strong> will get a Bigger Discount, and an Actual Manager<\/strong> could get a Huge Discount!<\/strong> It’s an Added on Perk that Everyone Loves! <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThere are many more Great Perks to Working in a Jewelry Store, and I even Wrote an Entire Post about it: “The Perks of a Jewelry Sales Person<\/a>“, but being able to Buy any Jewelry you want at a Discounted Price is Wonderful<\/strong>. Plus, it Helps out Greatly when it comes to Christmastime<\/strong>… everybody gets Jewelry as a Gift! No Complaints There!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Will Work for Jewelry!<\/h2>\n

\nI used to know this Lady who Worked in a Store, and she Worked there just for the Fun of it. She didn’t need the Money (Her Husband was an Engineer<\/strong>), she only Worked there for the Jewelry!<\/strong> It used to be a Big Ongoing Joke that Every Penny she made she Spent on Jewelry! <\/strong>We all Laughed about it, but you know what, she Loved it! <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nIf you’re a Jewelry Fanatic, or you’re a Jewelry Addict, you may want to consider a Career in Jewelry… Because the Best Person to Sell Jewelry (and do really well, and make Great Money doing it), is the Person who Loves it<\/strong>. The Person who’s Enthusiastic<\/strong> about it and can’t Wait to Dive into the Case and see what’s New and Exciting.<\/p>\n

\nI Love Jewelry<\/strong>. Always have. Diamonds are my Specialty<\/strong> and I could Look at them and Show them all Day. <\/p>\n

\nAnd Trust me, I’ve Bought a lot of Diamonds, Gold, and Jewelry<\/strong> over the Years. And there’s always More I Want, as Everyone Else Does I’m Sure! <\/p>\n

\nSo look into a Sales Position at your Local Jewelry Store<\/strong>. <\/p>\n
