The Girdle is 100%<\/h2>\n

\nThe Girdle is the Widest Part<\/strong> of the Stone (100% and all the other Facets and Percentages<\/strong> are Compared to that) and it’s also the Section of Stone that the Prongs Hang onto to Make your Diamond Safe and Secure in the Head<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

But something Few People know about<\/strong>, or even Consider is this:<\/p>\n

The Girdle Is Weak!<\/h2>\n

\nIn fact, the Girdle is the Weakest Part of the Diamond<\/strong> because it’s where the Upper and Lower Facets meet and it’s Easy to Bump or Hit. The Girdle is Thin and comes to a Pointed Edge, sometimes it’s Polished<\/strong>, sometimes Rough<\/strong>, sometimes Faceted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe Point is WEAK,<\/strong> and Vulnerable<\/strong>, and that’s why Diamond Cutters actually Lop off that Sharp Edge<\/strong> into a Flatter Edge so the Girdle’s isn’t as Dangerous<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nBut, some Girdles are Still Weak and Vulnerable to Chipping or Breaking<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

I would Stay Away from those Girdles!<\/h2>\n

\nLikewise, I would also stay away from Girdles that are at the other end of the Spectrum<\/strong> as well. Girdles that have a “Thick<\/strong>“, “Very Thick<\/strong>“, or “Extremely Thick<\/strong>” Girdle Grade can actually make the Girdle Look Lumpy<\/strong>, be Visually Distracting<\/strong>, and they take up way too much Carat Weight<\/strong> (The Diamond could look much Smaller than it really is because all the Weight is in the Girdle).<\/p>\n

\nGirdles like this are Not Eye-Candy<\/strong>, they’re Eye-Sores!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Most Durable Girdles<\/h2>\n

\nThe Best and Most Durable Diamond Girdle to have are these:<\/strong> Thin, Medium, and Slightly Thick. As seen here:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Those Girdles are IDEAL <\/strong>for they’ll really be Durable, Protect your Stone<\/strong>, and NOT Take Away from the True Beauty<\/strong> of the Diamond.<\/p>\n

\nBecause a Weak Girdle is an Accident waiting to happen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nAnd if you Chip or Break your Stone, there’s no Helping it Except for Repolishing the Stone<\/strong> and making it a Smaller Carat Weight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And that’s NOT Fun, Nor Cheap!<\/h2>\n

\nSo Buy a Durable Girdle<\/strong> (You’ll see Girdle Grades listed on the Diamond Reports<\/strong>), and your Diamond AND Pocket Book<\/strong> will thank you. <\/p>\n
