I always Advise Buying High Quality Diamonds<\/strong> (Like this Superior .96 Carat, IF, D Diamond at James Allen<\/a>)…<\/p>\n

\nIt’s hard not to Push Quality<\/strong> after being in the Business for over 27 Years<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

But You Know What?<\/h2>\n

\nMany times, High Quality is a BAD THING!<\/strong><\/p>\n

High Quality Bad to Buy?<\/h2>\n

\nYEP!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo Hold onto your Hats<\/strong>, because I’m about to Rip on the Best of the Best<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nStarting with…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diamond Clarity<\/h2>\n

\nI don’t Mind some Inclusions <\/strong>in a Diamond. <\/p>\n

\n(Not Eye-Visible Flaws<\/strong>, but Microscopic Flaws found in SI1 Diamonds or Higher<\/a>)<\/p>\n

\nBut there’s a Very BIG Reason<\/strong> why I like some Imperfections…<\/p>\n

\nI can SEE <\/strong>them under 10x Magnification<\/strong> (Using a Microscope<\/a> or a 10x Jeweler’s Loupe<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\nAnd Because I’m able to see them, I can Memorize them and Identify my Stone<\/strong> at a later date.<\/p>\n

\nFlaws are like a Fingerprint <\/strong>to a Diamond. Each one is Unique and they’ll look like that FOREVER!<\/strong><\/p>\n

They Don’t Change. EVER!<\/h2>\n

\nWhich means, if your Diamond has something Identifiable <\/strong>in it, something that Distinguishes <\/strong>it from another Stone, then you can PREVENT Diamond Switching!<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nYou can Pick up your Diamond Ring from Repair, Sizing, Prong Retipping<\/strong>, Whatever… See your Diamond Flaws under a Microscope (While you’re still at the Store<\/strong>), and know that you got your Diamond back!<\/p>\n

\nThis is Difficult to do with Higher Quality Diamonds!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFor Diamond Clarity VVS or Higher<\/strong>, have such Tiny, Tiny Flaws that you probably won’t see them under 10x Power<\/strong>. They’re that Small (Especially with an Untrained Eye<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nSo to most Folks, any Clarity VVS2 or Higher will all look FLAWLESS <\/strong>(Void of any Inclusions). And you know what else looks “Flawless<\/strong>” and “Perfect<\/strong>“???<\/p>\n

FAKE STONES!<\/h2>\n

\nStones like Cubic Zirconia<\/strong> are Inclusion-Free as well. There’s nothing in them (because they’re made in a Laboratory<\/strong> and NOT in Nature<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nSo your “Flawless<\/strong>” Genuine Diamond could get Switched and Mistaken for a Cheap CZ Stone!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAnd sadly, you’d Probably Never Know it. They’d all look the same!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n(Although CZ’s will Display more FIRE<\/strong>, or Flashes of Color<\/strong> in them!)<\/p>\n

\nYou’d have to Diamond Test the Stone<\/a> just to be SURE <\/strong>it’s a Real Diamond!<\/p>\n

Diamond Carat Weight<\/h2>\n

\nDiamonds don’t Increase in Value Equally <\/strong>as you Step up in Carat Weight.<\/p>\n

NOPE!<\/h2>\n

\nThey jump 3-4 Times the Price!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo going from a 1\/2 Carat<\/strong> into a 1 Carat<\/strong> will probably be 4-6 times the Price!<\/strong><\/p>\n

That’s some BIG BUCKS!<\/h2>\n

\nAnd as much as the “DREAM<\/strong>” Carat Weight is a One Carat Diamond<\/strong>, those One Carats will COST <\/strong>you!<\/p>\n

\nUsually 1 Carat Diamonds of Half-Way Decent Quality<\/strong> will BEGIN <\/strong>at around 5 Grand<\/strong> and up.<\/p>\n

And that can SUCK!<\/h2>\n

\nAnd then you have to still set it into a Mounting<\/strong>, and more than likely get one with Diamonds<\/strong>, and then you’ll also need that Matching Wedding Band<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

MONEY MONEY MONEY!<\/h2>\n

\nSo instead, go for a Smaller Carat Weight, like .50 – .75<\/strong>, and have it set into a Halo Mounting with Diamonds<\/a> surrounding the center. <\/p>\n

\nThat way, you can still get your “One Carat<\/strong>” Diamond Ring, but the “Carat<\/strong>” will be Distributed around the Ring. It’ll be One Carat TOTAL Weight!<\/strong> (The Weight of ALL <\/strong>the Diamonds added together)<\/p>\n

\nIt may be Cheating<\/strong>, but it’s still a Carat<\/strong>, and still WAY CHEAPER!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diamond Color<\/h2>\n

\nHave you ever looked at D Color?<\/a><\/p>\n

\nD Color is the TOP, most Highest Diamond Color<\/strong> there is on the Face of the Earth.<\/p>\n

\nAnd in my Opinion…<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s TOO White!<\/h2>\n

\nSure, I LOVE Colorless Diamonds<\/strong> (D, E, F), but I usually always stick with E or F<\/strong> for this Particular Reason…<\/p>\n

They aren’t Stark White!<\/h2>\n

\nD Color is White-White<\/strong> and it tends to make a Diamond look Glassy or FAKE!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like it’s been Bleached!<\/h2>\n

\nE-F Color is toned down a Smidge<\/strong>… They don’t read as Bone-White<\/strong> as D.<\/p>\n

\nIf you Purchased a D, Congrats<\/strong>, it’s Nice to know you own the Best in the World<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nBut you know what other Stone is Perfectly White?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nYou Guessed it…<\/strong><\/p>\n

CZ’s!<\/h2>\n

\nThose Cheap Fake Stones that fill Costume Jewelry<\/a> and Sell for Practically nothing…<\/p>\n

\nThey’re Pure White, and they Resemble a D Colored Diamond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nWhich means, if you put them side by side (or a Jeweler Swapped them out<\/strong>), you might not be able to tell (unless you Diamond Tested<\/a> them!)<\/p>\n

OUCH!<\/h2>\n

\nThat HURTS!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diamond Cut<\/h2>\n

\nWhat’s Wrong with the Best Diamond CUT?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n(Which is “Excellent<\/strong>“)<\/p>\n

NOTHING!<\/h2>\n

\nGranted, you could buy one with a “Very Good<\/strong>” Cut and they may look Similar (Except in Price<\/strong>), but it’s really hard to Knock Cut since it plays such a Huge Role in the Beauty and Sparkle<\/strong> of a Stone.<\/p>\n

\nBut you know what CUT you can do without?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Brilliant Cut<\/h2>\n

\nThe Round Brilliant Cut is the Most Popular<\/strong>, and the MOST Expensive Cut<\/strong> there is.<\/p>\n

\nSo if you Shifted into Fancy Cuts<\/strong>, like Princess<\/a>, Radiant<\/a>, or Cushion Cut<\/a>, then you’d Save TONS of Money<\/strong> (Sometimes even HALF<\/strong>)!<\/p>\n

\nNot that’s a Cut worth Cutting!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLastly…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diamond Certification<\/h2>\n

\nGIA is the BEST!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nGIA is also the Most Expensive<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nBut if you’re Spending this kind of Money on a Diamond Engagement Ring<\/a>, then this is one Area I’d NEVER Skimp!<\/strong><\/p>\n

BUY GIA!<\/h2>\n

\nYou’ll Never Regret it!<\/strong><\/p>\n
