But in reality &#8220;<strong>opal<\/strong>&#8221; was named after &#8220;<strong>opalus<\/strong>&#8220;, which meant &#8220;<strong>to heal the blind<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Close in association<\/strong>, but this little disorientation brought huge consequences. <\/p>\n<p>\nFor this mishap caused people to believe that it was <strong>psychic<\/strong>, and that the <strong>EYE <\/strong>(<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1QVtkPt\">did you see that movie?<\/a>) gave you abilities into <strong>the supernatural world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nSome even thought that it would make you <strong>invisible to your enemies<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nThroughout history, opals have always brought intrigue and fascination, so will it give you <strong>teleportation powers<\/strong> as well? Some thought it would.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Some believed it banished evil and cured eye-sight.<\/h2>\n<p>\nSome EYES even <strong>resembled a cat&#8217;s eye<\/strong> and Medieval Europeans believed that <strong>a glance upon the stone<\/strong> would bring ill-will. <\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Many thought Witches used them in their craft<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nThe evil-eye made people sick. <strong>It killed crops<\/strong>. It sickened livestock. <\/p>\n<p><h2>All coincidental?<\/h2>\n<p>\nI&#8217;m sure it was, people always want to find causes for failures and fatality&#8230; But hence, the eye was <strong>forever linked with dire omens<\/strong> and <strong>sinister malevolence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s crazy, because something named to be <strong>virtuous<\/strong>, turned ugly and dark over time. <\/p>\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s sad, because opals are beautiful, stunning, and vivid.
