Friday the 13th<\/strong> is usually considered to be an unlucky day<\/strong> in the USA<\/strong>. It occurs when the 13th day of the month falls on a Friday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe fear <\/strong>of the number 13 even has a scientific name<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Triskaidekaphobia<\/h2>\n

\nThe fear actually originated from the story of Jesus and the last supper<\/strong>, in which there were 13 disciples<\/strong> present in the upper room on the 13th of Nisan Maundy Thursday, the night before his death on Good Friday<\/strong>. While there is evidence of both Friday and the number 13 being considered unlucky<\/strong>, there is no record of the two items being referred to as especially unlucky in conjunction before the 19th century.<\/p>\n

\nSome say it’s in regards to Gioachino Rossini<\/strong> who died on a Friday 13th<\/strong>. No matter how it all began or why, there is an estimated 21 million people in the United States affected by a fear of this day, making it the most feared day and date in history!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFor me, it doesn’t bother me<\/strong>. After all, I get into watching all those Friday the 13th movies<\/a> (as cheesy as they are to watch today. “LOOK OUT, Jason Voorhees<\/strong> is behind you…”)<\/p>\n
