WHAT?<\/h2>\n

\nJewelry Stores DON’T STEAL?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nHave I lost my mind???<\/p>\n

\nNOPE!<\/strong> Because it’s NOT the Jewelry Stores<\/strong> that are stealing from you…<\/p>\n

It’s the Employees!<\/h2>\n

\nYou see, just recently Kay Jewelers<\/strong> got into a lot of hot water because of an incident that went viral<\/strong> (Read: FOX NEWS HERE!<\/a>). Seems like a customer had accused Kays of swapping out their goods…<\/p>\n

\nAnd many people have wrote in about this topic, saying “How can you support Kays<\/strong>” or “I’m never buying from them again…<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\nThis is fine, you can think what you want, but I’m here to say:<\/p>\n

I’m not believing it!<\/h2>\n

\nBecause it’s not “Kays<\/strong>” that is stealing<\/strong>, it’s one of their unscrupulous workers<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nAnd before you say “Well they represent the company<\/strong>“, do note, that in every single business across the country, there will always be that one person, that one employee who just happens to steal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI’m sure you’ve heard of people in your own company that stole or have gotten fired from stealing<\/strong> (Paperclips, Post Its, Money, Merchandise, Hours…).<\/p>\n

It happens. EVERYWHERE!<\/h2>\n

\nEvery business hires people, and you can’t control what people do<\/strong>. Sure you can have policies, cameras, inventory control<\/strong> and every other means of preventing theft, but the truth is, it’s still going to happen and WILL!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nIt’s not the company’s fault. Hell, look at restaurants… You think all the Waiters and Waitresses claim 100% of their tips?<\/strong> No! Didn’t think so. That’s stealing from the Government…<\/p>\n

Does that make it right?<\/h2>\n

\nWhat if you leave the Grocery store and see that they forgot to charge you for Milk<\/strong>. Do you go back in and pay for it?<\/strong> Or do you say “It’s their fault! That’s what they get!<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\nYou see, it’s not so cut and dry<\/strong>. You can’t point fingers and still bend the rules at the same time.<\/p>\n

\nJewelry Stores don’t open up a store thinking “I’m gonna rip off the public!<\/strong>” No one does that.<\/p>\n

That’s not what they want!<\/h2>\n

\nStores want to build a reputable business<\/strong> and hire reputable people…<\/p>\n

\nBut bad seeds happen<\/strong>. You get someone who snatches a “FREE<\/strong>” Watch Battery, or skims a couple of bucks<\/strong> from the cash drawer. And then, yes, every so often you get those greedy fools<\/strong> who get so desperate that they steal customer’s diamonds and rings<\/strong>. I’ve been in the industry for 28 years, I’ve heard of it happening about 3-4 times<\/strong> in the past. <\/p>\n

\nAnd keep in mind, that’s “HEARD<\/strong>” about it… I’ve never seen it. In fact, there’s very little proof<\/strong>… For all I know the customer could have brought in a “Fake Diamond<\/strong>” and then accused the Jeweler of switching it… <\/p>\n

I don’t know!<\/h2>\n

\nAll I’m saying is those employees get fired<\/strong>. No business wants to keep them. But that shouldn’t bring down an entire company<\/strong>. It’s silly to think that way. <\/p>\n

\nLook at yourself, look at your company and business… How do you deal with stealing?<\/strong> Employees? <\/p>\n

\nShould you allow a store to crumble<\/strong> because one person thought it was right to pocket something that wasn’t theirs?<\/p>\n

NO!<\/h2>\n

\nIt can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere<\/strong>… Just cover your butt and get insurance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That’s what it’s there for!<\/h2>\n

\nStealing is part of life<\/strong>, SADLY!<\/strong> It’s something we all have to deal with…<\/p>\n

\nSo don’t be flubbing your taxes<\/strong>, or getting too happy when something rings up $10 less<\/strong> than it should…<\/p>\n

Someone has to Pay the Price!<\/h2>\n

\nBut should it be the store, company, or business?<\/strong><\/p>\n
