\nWhich means, there are numbers, letters<\/strong>, or even words <\/strong>engraved or etched on the side of the diamond.<\/p>\n

\nLaser inscriptions get laser etched onto the girdle of the stone<\/strong>, which is the flat belt<\/strong> that runs all the way around the diamond (see image).<\/p>\n

\nThis is where you’ll see the laser inscription<\/strong>, like GIA 123456789<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nViewing this, allows you to identify your stone<\/strong> and prevent yourself from getting ripped off<\/strong>, or having your diamond switched<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But often, it goes even deeper…<\/h2>\n

\nBecause you can actually have custom engraving<\/strong>, as in your own initials, words, phrases<\/strong> etched there. Like: I Love You, T&R, 6-1-1996<\/strong>… <\/p>\n

\nAnd having an etched diamond like this is romantic, sweet, smart, sentimental<\/strong>… But not very practical<\/strong>, because it’s so small on your diamond, that no one will ever see it<\/strong>. You’ll need a microscope<\/a> or a 10x jeweler’s loupe<\/a> to view it. Which again, isn’t very feasible<\/strong> (very few people know how to use a loupe, and microscopes are silly to have to lug around<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nJust like they use in the jewelry stores<\/strong>. A small device that’s already set up. All you have to do is slide your engagement ring into the slot<\/strong> and peer through the eye viewer. VOILA!<\/strong> You’ll see your inscription, numbers, letters, phrase, just like that.<\/strong> These viewers are ideal for viewing inscriptions<\/strong> for one very big <\/strong>reason…<\/p>\n

The magnification.<\/h2>\n

\nThey are 20x<\/strong> (twenty times enlarged), versus a normal 10x<\/strong> (like loupes use). This is almost always needed for customers to view those tiny letters. 20x works wonders.<\/strong><\/p>\n
