Date Wrong?<\/h2>\n

\nMany of the wrist watches on the market have what they call a perpetual calendar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What is a perpetual calendar?<\/h2>\n

\nQuite simply, the ability to keep track of the current month and date<\/strong>, regardless of the actual number of days<\/strong> in any given month, or leap year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nMeaning, come September 30th<\/strong>, the calendar won’t roll over to September 31st<\/strong> (wait, there is no September 31st…), it’ll move directly to October 1st<\/strong> instead.<\/p>\n

Every Month used to have 31…<\/h2>\n

\nWatches without a perpetual calendar would just display 31<\/strong> for the date (since the movement wheel<\/strong> just spins to the next number in line, which as you can see in the picture, goes to 31 for every month<\/em><\/strong>). To get the correct date, you’d have to adjust the time yourself <\/strong>(roll ahead one day).<\/p>\n

\nWhile it’s not a big deal<\/strong>, it’s still a pain<\/strong>. Especially if you haven’t worn your watch in 6 months and realize that it’s off by days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So perpetual calendars fix all that.<\/h2>\n

\nThey keep you synced<\/strong> and up-to-date.<\/p>\n

But even these aren’t totally perfect…<\/h2>\n
