5 BEST TIPS before you buy “THE RING!”<\/h2>\n

\nLet’s begin…<\/strong><\/p>\n

1) Buy a Solitaire<\/h2>\n

\nA plain mounting<\/strong> (often called a Tiffany<\/a>), is fail-proof<\/strong> and looks beautiful. It shows a diamond off better<\/strong> than any other mounting.<\/p>\n

\nThat way you won’t have to know if she’ll like what you pick out<\/strong>… <\/p>\n

Plain mountings ALWAYS work!<\/h2>\n

\nIt’s simple, attractive<\/strong>, and she can always have it reset into something different later<\/strong>, if her heart desires.<\/p>\n

\nAnd if the budget is tight<\/strong>, add little diamonds around the center stone (like a halo mounting<\/a>). That way, you can opt for a smaller center stone<\/strong>, which saves you money<\/strong>, and still gives you that big look<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Save MORE Money!<\/h2>\n

\nIf you purchase a fancy cut diamond<\/strong>, like a princess cut or cushion cut<\/strong>, then you’ll save even more money (rounds are always the most expensive<\/strong> for the exact same size and quality).<\/p>\n

2) SI2 or Better Clarity<\/h2>\n

\nYou don’t need the best clarity<\/strong>. In fact, if you stick with the average SI Range<\/a> (SI1 or SI2 – there is no SI3<\/a>), then you’ll save a ton of green backs<\/strong>. Because anything SI2 or higher is eye-clean<\/strong>. Meaning, you won’t see any flaws with the bare eye<\/strong> (you’ll need a Microscope<\/a> or a 10x Jeweler’s Loupe<\/a> to see them). <\/p>\n

Compare an VVS2 to an SI1 below…<\/h2>\n

\n\"Buy<\/a><\/p>\n

\nNow that’s some true savings!<\/strong><\/p>\n

3) Excellent Cuts!<\/h2>\n

\nDon’t skimp on cut<\/strong>. You can skimp on everything else… JUST NOT CUT!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCut makes everything look better;<\/strong> the color, the size, the clarity, the sparkle, the brilliance… <\/p>\n

It’s ALL about the CUT!<\/h2>\n

\nThe best cut there is, is EXCELLENT<\/strong>! I would recommend that 100%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nAnd if you also get “excellent<\/strong>” in Polish and Symmetry<\/strong>, as well, then you’ll have yourself an unbeatable “supercut<\/strong>“, like the True Hearts<\/a>, Signature Diamonds<\/a> and Hearts and Fire<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\nThey are not only impressive, but will shine like a billion stars in the sky<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

They’re well worth every penny!<\/h2>\n

\n\"Triple<\/a><\/p>\n

4) H or Higher Color<\/h2>\n

\nStick with a Fine White Diamond Color<\/strong>, or better (G-H+<\/strong>). That way you don’t have any yellow hue<\/strong> or tint in your stone. <\/p>\n

\nPersonally, I prefer Pure White Diamonds<\/strong> (D, E, and F), they tend to POP <\/strong>more and give a diamond much needed oomph! <\/strong><\/p>\n

5) BUY GIA CERTIFIED!<\/h2>\n

\nThis is a big one… ONLY BUY GIA!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNothing else. Ever!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nMeaning no IGI, Gemex, or EGL<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

GIA is the BEST!<\/h2>\n

\nGIA (The Gemological Institute of America<\/a>) are the people that wrote the book on diamonds and diamond grading<\/strong> (they developed the 4C’s<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nThey are extremely high-tech and strict <\/strong>when it comes to diamond grading (you won’t get a better report- PERIOD<\/strong>!)<\/p>\n

\nAnd, chances are good, if you compare two diamonds<\/strong> of the exact same quality (like SI1, G<\/strong>), but different Certificates (i.e. GIA<\/strong> and IGI<\/strong>), the GIA stone will usually always look better, cleaner, brighter<\/strong> (9 times out of 10).<\/p>\n

\nGo into any jewelry store and put them side by side. Compare them. You’ll see!<\/strong><\/p>\n

And lastly…<\/h2>\n

\nMake sure any diamond you buy does NOT have Fluorescence<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

(And many, many websites online, even big time national chains<\/strong>, do not list whether a diamond has Fluorescence or NOT!!! SCARY!<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

\n\"Double<\/a><\/p>\n

Fluorescence can make a diamond (of any quality<\/strong>, even the highest), look weird, odd, or bad in natural light<\/strong>. It could even make them look foggy or hazy<\/strong>. And that’s sad <\/strong>if you bought the best diamond you could afford, and it still looks like crap!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo skip <\/strong>fluorescence, make sure the certificate says NONE!<\/strong><\/p>\n

So there you GO!<\/h2>\n
