Light It Up!<\/h2>\n

\nMany people are under the assumption that the more facets a diamond has<\/strong>, the brighter that diamond will shine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It makes sense<\/h2>\n

\nBut it isn’t true!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nWhether your diamond has 58 facets<\/strong> (the norm on a brilliant cut round diamond<\/a>), or 100 facets<\/strong> (like the centillion <\/strong>super cut diamond), the extra facets won’t make the stone brighter.<\/p>\n

\nThe only thing it will do, is give you more smaller flashes<\/strong> of light and color (brilliance and fire<\/strong>)… Versus average (regular) flashes of light and color.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s the same amount of light<\/strong>, just broken up into smaller pieces (distributed<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Fancy too!<\/h2>\n

\nThe same goes with fancy cuts<\/strong> (i.e. princess, radiant, cushion, marquise), they are all faceted different than a round, but they won’t be any brighter<\/strong>. Usually the brightest cut is the brilliant cut<\/strong>, but that’s only because it’s symmetrically round<\/strong> and transfers light evenly.<\/p>\n

So what does make a diamond brighter?<\/h2>\n
