Buying an Engagement Ring?<\/h2>\n

\nSTOP!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Read this first…<\/h2>\n

\nBecause so many people buy diamonds without knowing<\/strong> what it is they’re buying…<\/p>\n

\nGranted, some people don’t care<\/strong>, don’t want to learn, are lazy<\/strong>, or just want to shop by the cheapest price<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

But often…<\/h2>\n

\nIt’s NOT the consumer’s fault.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nIt’s the ads, or website, or flier, or store, or salesperson that’s the real issues at hand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo many times–most of the time<\/strong>–they don’t tell you or list everything that you need<\/strong> in order to make a good buying decision<\/strong>. You can’t compare diamonds when you don’t know what you’re comparing…<\/p>\n

For Example:<\/h2>\n

\nSome stores won’t <\/strong>tell you the “CUT<\/strong>” of a diamond (this happens more than you know<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nThey’ll list the cut as “ROUND<\/strong>“. <\/p>\n

Round is NOT a Cut.<\/h2>\n

\nRound is a shape<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nCut is the actual cutting style<\/strong>, as in; brilliant cut<\/strong>, princess cut, radiant cut<\/strong>, oval cut, marquise cut<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

So if it lists “ROUND<\/strong>” as the cut; BUYER BEWARE!<\/strong><\/p>\n

DON’T BUY IT FROM THEM!<\/h2>\n

\nBecause this also means there’s a good chance<\/strong> that other crucial information<\/strong> is withheld. <\/p>\n

They’ll conveniently <\/strong>leave out the cut grade<\/strong> (and I’m talking about a single diamond or solitaire<\/strong> here). They’ll also leave out the polish <\/strong>and symmetry<\/strong>, too.<\/p>\n

\nMany don’t list if the diamond is certified<\/strong> (which usually means it’s NOT<\/strong>). And many stores won’t even bring up fluorescence <\/strong>(which can have a huge impact on how the diamond appears).<\/p>\n

\nSo when you see a diamond that’s listed as SI2, I<\/strong>, for $1200<\/strong>… (used solely as an example), you may think you’re getting a really great deal<\/strong>, but look deeper. You can’t buy on color and clarity alone… If the diamond has a bad cut (a poor make<\/strong>), has fluorescence<\/strong>, is dark<\/strong>, out-of-round<\/strong>, then it’s not such a great deal after all. It’s not worth it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You may have been ripped off.<\/h2>\n

\nYou can’t buy a diamond, especially a single stone for an engagement ring<\/strong>, without knowing ALL <\/strong>of the details (whether you use these details or not, that’s totally up to you, but you should at least have knowledge of them).<\/p>\n

\nPlus, I would NEVER buy a diamond that’s not GIA or AGS certified<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
