The tiny microscopic diamonds that often called &#8220;<strong>accent stones<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>\nThese hard-to-see stones are surprisingly, <strong>often not graded<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Not Graded in the Least:<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No Color<\/li>\n<li>No Clarity<\/li>\n<li>No Cut<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nNo grading of any kind, other than <strong>maybe a carat weight<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><h2>The Reason Being is this:<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe diamonds are<strong> too small to worry about<\/strong>, too small to <strong>spend the money<\/strong> certifying, and really, too small to <strong>notice <\/strong>anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\nUsually diamonds (which most are cut as <strong>single cuts<\/strong> &#8211; see image below), have few facets (16-17), with few <strong>brilliance<\/strong>, few <strong>sparkle<\/strong>, a tad bit of <strong>reflection<\/strong>, and not much else!<\/p>\n<p><h2>Take a Peek&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Melee-Accent-Stone-Single-Cut-Diamonds.jpg\" alt=\"Melee Accent Stone Single Cut Diamonds\" title=\"Melee Accent Stone Single Cut Diamonds\" width=\"640\" height=\"550\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20098\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Melee-Accent-Stone-Single-Cut-Diamonds.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Melee-Accent-Stone-Single-Cut-Diamonds-300x258.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Single cut diamonds, a.k.a. <strong>accent stones<\/strong> (or as many jewelers also call them &#8216;<strong>melee<\/strong>&#8216;), appear everywhere.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Take a Gander at more <strong>accent Stone Jewelry<\/strong>&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Small-Diamond-Quality-Melee-Accent-Stones-Color-Clarity.jpg\" alt=\"Small Diamond Quality Melee Accent Stones Color Clarity\" title=\"Small Diamond Quality Melee Accent Stones Color Clarity\" width=\"640\" height=\"550\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Small-Diamond-Quality-Melee-Accent-Stones-Color-Clarity.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Small-Diamond-Quality-Melee-Accent-Stones-Color-Clarity-300x258.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><h2>These Stones aren&#8217;t Graded<\/h2>\n<p>\nNot that it would matter, for <strong>it&#8217;s almost impossible to see them<\/strong> (unless you use a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2kwSI5G\">jeweler&#8217;s loupe<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\nPlus, most of these accent stones are going to be low quality, <strong>like I clarity, I-J color<\/strong> (Nothing like the bigger <strong>brilliant cut diamonds<\/strong>, which are used as main stones and engagement rings).<\/p>\n<p><h2>Accent Stones are just for Show!<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong>They spice things up a bit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nOnly when they get bigger, like 10 points or more, <strong>should you worry about the grades<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nAnd even then, until you get into <strong>1\/4 carats<\/strong> (25 pts), does <strong>it really start to become obvious<\/strong>. That&#8217;s when the inclusions tend to <strong>stand out<\/strong> and get noticed (like <strong>black carbon spots<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>\nSo small &#8216;<strong>dot<\/strong>&#8216; diamonds (and some even look like <strong>balls of salt<\/strong>), are what they are. <strong>Don&#8217;t expect color or clarity<\/strong> to be listed. With them, since there&#8217;s such an abundance, <strong>jewelers use them a lot<\/strong> (plus, they&#8217;re <strong>ultra-cheap<\/strong>). It gives the piece gemstones, and they can then label the item as &#8216;<strong>diamond<\/strong>&#8216;. <\/p>\n<p>\nAccent stones are small, fun, and <strong>they aid in the overall appearance<\/strong> and <em>feel <\/em>of the piece.<\/p>\n<p><h2>No Quality &#8211; No Problem!<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe center diamond (the <strong>masterpiece<\/strong>) is a whole different story, though.
