You really needed a <strong>top-notch clarity<\/strong> to not see any imperfections with the bare eye.<\/p>\n<p>\nOnce the brilliant cutting style came along, it <strong>over-powered the step cuts<\/strong>. Which is a good thing, because that led to <strong>the birth of the princess cut<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nUnderstand one thing, this brilliant cutting style is the actual way the stone is faceted. Like <strong>a starburst on the bottom<\/strong> (the pavilion), and <strong>kite-shaped facets<\/strong> around the crown (the raised section that lifts up the table).<\/p>\n<p><h2>This cutting style is not the actual shape itself.<\/h2>\n<p>\nWhich is why this <strong>modified cut<\/strong> has been used on almost all the modern common shapes today: <strong>Princess Cut<\/strong>, Heart Cut, <strong>Pear Cut<\/strong>, Trilliant Cut, <strong>Radiant Cut<\/strong>, Oval Cut, and <strong>Marquise Cut<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nThis style of faceting gives the diamond <strong>more brilliance and fire and life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><h2>That&#8217;s where the princess cut comes from&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>\nWhen most people think of a princess cut, <strong>they think of a square stone<\/strong>. But most stones are <strong>not exactly square<\/strong>. Most are more rectangular-ish in shape. It&#8217;s last on the list.<\/p>\n<p><h2>But not to you and me&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>\nBecause people <strong>still think a princess cut is square<\/strong>, no matter whom you ask. <strong>I do too<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nIn fact,<strong> I love the square stones<\/strong> so much better. <strong>They appeal to me<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll notice that even &#8220;<strong>square<\/strong>&#8221; stones are not <strong>absolutely-perfectly square<\/strong>. They&#8217;ll always be off a smidge. But if you get close enough, it will <strong>face up square<\/strong>, for sure.<\/p>\n<p><h2>What matters more than Shape?<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe thing that <strong>should matter more<\/strong> than the actual shape, is <strong>the visually aspect<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nSome princess cuts <strong>react with light<\/strong> differently.
