Reviewed…<\/h2>\n

\nWith so many CZ<\/strong>; Cubic Zirconia stud earrings<\/a> (a.k.a. diamond simulants<\/strong>) on the market, I thought I’d do a comparison and review<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo I picked 4 different pairs<\/strong> that were best sellers<\/strong>, all the same carat weight (1.50 ct<\/strong>; a big carat weight, so they should give me a big look<\/strong>). And some even had intriguing names like “Stunning Flame<\/strong>“, “Hearts & Arrows<\/strong>“, and “Pure Brilliance<\/strong>“. I had to have a closer look.<\/p>\n

P.S.<\/strong> It’s important to note that this was not a paid review<\/strong>, I bought these from my own pocket<\/strong> just to compare them.<\/p>\n

So let’s see…<\/h2>\n

\nI got them within a couple of days (Thanks to Prime<\/strong>)…<\/p>\n

\nAnd the first pair, is truly a classic<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

CZ Stud Pair #1<\/h2>\n

\n\"Classic<\/a><\/p>\n

This pair of classic CZ’s<\/a> are set in solid 14kt white gold<\/strong> (not sterling silver), and the diamond simulants were very shiny, very white, and looked good to the eye. They also measured correctly<\/strong>; 6mm (which is .75ct per earring<\/strong>, totaling 1.50 carat weight between the two).<\/p>\n

They had great sparkle and brilliance<\/strong>, but upon further inspection (with a 10x jeweler’s loupe<\/a>), I could see that both stones were actually chipped<\/strong> (not noticeable to the bare eye). One had a chip directly on the culet<\/strong>, the other had a nick on a top-crown facet<\/strong>. :(<\/p>\n

Plus, the Mountings were Weak!<\/h2>\n

\nThey were very light weight and thin<\/strong> (You could probably bend them<\/strong> just trying to get them in your ear lobes). The backs were so fragile and wimpy, they wouldn’t last long<\/strong>, nor hold much.<\/p>\n

\nNothing about them felt strong or secure. But, what can you expect for solid gold?<\/strong> Gold is expensive and won’t affect your ears like sterling silver will (allergies<\/strong>), so you get what you pay for<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nIf the mountings and backs were a tad bit thicker (even if it drove the price up a little), I would have loved them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Something else…<\/h2>\n

\nThey came with no box!<\/strong> Which isn’t a big deal, but they did have a white pouch <\/strong>to store them in (Which is why I photographed them on a black background instead (like the others), so you can fully compare their sparkle). <\/p>\n

CZ Stud Pair #2<\/h2>\n

\nThe second pair of cz’s<\/a> had fun martini-style mountings<\/strong> (which I loved). <\/p>\n

\n\"Stunning<\/a><\/p>\n

\nThey were 6mm<\/strong> as well, had good fire and brilliance, but didn’t appear as white<\/strong> as the first pair. They were darker inside<\/strong> (when put side by side with the others).<\/p>\n

\nDubbed “Stunning Flame<\/a>“, these cz’s were sparkly, had a lot of fire<\/strong> (colored light, which cz’s are known for), and were set in 18k gold plated mountings<\/strong> (although they were just stamped s925<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nThe posts were thin<\/strong>, the backs were weak and flimsy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe curved mountings<\/strong> felt good against the ear, but the fragile posts and backs<\/strong> didn’t look so appealing.<\/p>\n

\nThey did come with a polishing cloth<\/strong> though, which no other pair did. BONUS!<\/strong><\/p>\n

CZ Stud Pair #3<\/h2>\n

\nThese diamond-look-alikes were HUGE…<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\"Hearts<\/a><\/p>\n

\nBut that’s because I made one mistake<\/strong> while ordering… I ordered 1.50 carat EACH EAR!<\/strong> (Which is 3.00 carats total weight). Most places list studs as a total weight<\/strong> (not individually), so when they arrived, I saw they were double the size of the others. I goofed up (which means, don’t make the same mistake I did, read what the total weights are per ear<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Anyway… <\/h2>\n

\nNot only were the studs enormous <\/strong>(knock your socks off–WOW!<\/strong><\/em>), but the mountings were big as well. Chunky!<\/strong> Even Clumsy. They stuck out from the ear quite a bit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nListed as top grade “Hearts & Arrows<\/strong>“, these cz’s were set in 925 sterling silver<\/strong> with nice screwbacks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe pieces felt well-made, heavy, solid, strong… and were impressive and stunning!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nI don’t care for screwbacks though<\/strong>; the thread hurts my ears and it takes a long time<\/strong> to twist the backs on and off (which isn’t easy nor fun).<\/p>\n

\nThey look good though<\/strong>. Have a ton of sparkle, but did appear a little darker<\/strong> in the center (like pair #2). <\/p>\n

\nAll in all, they do make a huge statement<\/strong> and wouldn’t ever fall out of your ears. <\/p>\n

CZ Stud Pair #4<\/h2>\n

\nLastly, I reviewed the “Pure Brilliance” Swarovski cz studs<\/a>…<\/p>\n

\n\"Pure<\/a><\/p>\n

\nSet with 4 prongs, these studs most resemble a real diamond stud <\/strong>(you’d have a hard time picking these fakes from real stones).<\/p>\n

\nAnd the nice thing; the posts were 14k gold<\/strong> (they won’t infect your ears). The rest of the mounting (basket) and the earring backs were sterling silver<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThese earrings were ultra-white, very bright, very sparkly<\/strong>, and my favorite of the bunch<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The only problem…<\/h2>\n

\nThe carat weight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nYou get a little ripped <\/strong>here, because 1.50 diamond studs should be 6mm<\/strong> each stone…<\/p>\n

These stones were only 5.5mm<\/h2>\n

\nMeaning, they looked smaller<\/strong> than the rest of the earrings I reviewed.<\/p>\n

\nI will say though, that they do state directly on the Amazon product page<\/a>, that (in their book) 1.50 carats were 5.5mm each<\/strong> (where they get that, I don’t know. A 3\/4 carat stone is 6mm. Period!<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

\nSo their mm sizes are off<\/strong>, and if you didn’t know which was the correct mm to buy, you’d probably end up with small ones (like me. But I wanted to buy 1.50 total carat weight<\/strong> to compare).<\/p>\n

\n\"Pure<\/a><\/p>\n

\nSo if you’re ordering these… BUY BIGGER ONES!<\/strong> That way they won’t look tiny<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Winner is…<\/h2>\n

\nIn my view, the best pair of cz stud earrings<\/strong> to buy was the Pure Brilliance Swarovski Studs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThey had the most brilliance, were very white<\/strong> (no dark shadows), looked just like real diamond<\/strong> earrings, had strong earring backs, and 14k posts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Plus, they came in a nice gift box too!<\/h2>\n

\nNot to mention, they only cost $24.95<\/strong> (at the time of this post).<\/p>\n

\nJust remember to order bigger carat weights<\/strong> than normal.<\/p>\n

For $25… You can’t beat them!<\/h2>\n
