\nBetter get your pink ribbons<\/a> ready, because October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFor the entire month<\/strong> of October, you’ll see pink ribbons everywhere. And it’s sole purpose is to give strength and hope<\/strong>, support the survivors and those that were lost, bring awareness to the disease<\/strong> that affects so many women, and raise donations<\/strong> for this wonderful charity.<\/p>\n

Pink Signifies Femininity<\/h2>\n

\nThe pink ribbon idea actually came from the familiar song “Tie a yellow ribbon around the ole oak tree…<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\nAnd since then, ribbons have represented just about every charitable organization<\/strong>, in just about every color<\/strong> possible.<\/p>\n

\nBut pink was picked for breast cancer awareness<\/strong>. It was handed out to breast cancer survivors in a Race for the Cure <\/strong>(1990’s) and the pink momentum builds every year and gets stronger and stronger.<\/p>\n

\nWhen you see a pink ribbon<\/strong>, you know what it stands for!<\/em><\/p>\n

If you don’t have a pink ribbon lapel pin, buy one!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Wear One!<\/h2>\n

\nSupport the cause. Because breast cancer affects and touches everyone <\/strong>at some time in their life (1 in 8 women<\/strong>). Either you, or someone you know… And just recently, Julia Louis-Dreyfus<\/strong> just announced she had breast cancer. So sad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
