\nMy story goes on<\/strong>, as should yours.<\/p>\n

\nRecently, just a couple of days ago, YouTube star Logan Paul<\/strong> uploaded a video from inside Japan’s Suicide Forest<\/strong>, where they ran across a dead body hanging from a tree. It has since been deleted, but it struck a nerve in me<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nJapan (Mt. Fuji<\/strong>) has an entire forest where people go to end their lives.<\/p>\n

\nA forest so thick with trees and foliage that even the wind stops. It creates an eerily dead silence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And it consumes lives.<\/h2>\n

\nHundreds of them<\/strong>. Yearly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo much so they have to send in search missions to find all the bodies.<\/p>\n

It breaks my heart just thinking about it.<\/h2>\n

\nI’ve known two wonderful people <\/strong>in my life that have ended theirs. One, a good friend of mine<\/strong>, 20 years old, piped carbon monoxide from his exhaust into his car and died. <\/p>\n

\nThe other, a beautiful woman, such a cheery sunshine soul<\/strong>, hung herself in her father’s pantry.<\/p>\n

Truly Gut-Wrenching.<\/h2>\n

\nAnd it’s something that sticks with you forever<\/strong>. I always think about it. There’s no way to avoid it. It’s always the WHY?<\/strong> The What?<\/strong> The How?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

And it haunts me<\/h2>\n

\nIt haunts us all.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nWhen Chester Bennington<\/strong> took his life last year, it was painfully difficult. Linkin Park<\/strong> was my favorite band. It makes me feel empty inside. Lost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Suicide is Not the Answer<\/h2>\n

\nAnd sometime in our lives, we are all touched by suicide<\/strong>. Someone we know will kill themselves. And it usually starts with depression<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nIn fact, it’s one of the biggest risk factors<\/strong>. It’s a mental disorder that most have to some degree. But other factors can include bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and substance abuse (alcoholism and drugs).<\/p>\n

I’ve thought about suicide myself.<\/h2>\n

\nMultiple times in my life. I think we all have (haven’t we?<\/strong>) When life gets so stubbornly difficult and stressful, like the entire world is against you… It’s easy to let your mind wander. What if?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nBut I (You. We.) have to stay strong<\/strong>. Muscle through it. Push on. For things DO <\/em>get better<\/strong>. The cloud clears. The weight lifts. Light comes back<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nFor together, we can weather through this<\/strong> and come out the other side.<\/p>\n

\nThere are many organizations<\/strong> that can help with suicide prevention and awareness, too. So we are not alone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nUsing colors of purple and turquoise<\/strong>, as well as yellow<\/strong>, their ribbons, badges, bracelets and more, can bring conversations and aide to those who need it the most.<\/p>\n

Because to Prevent it, we have to be AWARE!<\/h2>\n

\nWe have to know the signs<\/strong>. Talk about it<\/strong>. Be there. We have no choice.<\/p>\n

Life is Precious<\/h2>\n

\nIt needs to be preserved<\/strong>. It needs to have a continuing story<\/strong> (hence the ;<\/strong> in all their jewelry). <\/p>\n

\nBecause you truly don’t know how many people’s lives are affected, until you open up and converse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Suicide happens every 15 minutes.<\/h2>\n

\nThat’s nearly 34,000 people<\/strong> that commit suicide every year. And soon, depression will outpace cancer<\/strong>, stroke, war, accidents, as the world’s leading cause of disability and death (according to the the World Health Organization<\/strong>). That’s insane. <\/p>\n

It shouldn’t happen.<\/h2>\n

\nEver!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nBecause we all have a future. More life to tell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
