Galentines???<\/h2>\n

\nNot until this year did I hear the phrase “Galentines<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

\nI thought it was pretty silly<\/strong>, Valentine’s for your girl friends?<\/p>\n

But Trust Me…<\/h2>\n

\nIt really is a thing<\/strong>. And it’s gaining momentum and steam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nGalentine’s Day actually started in 2010 <\/strong>(I know, WOW<\/em>), and it was created on Parks & Recreation<\/a>, an episode that aired Feb 11, 2010<\/strong>, called “Galentine’s Day<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

\nIn the plot, Amy Poehler (Leslie)<\/strong> throws a Galentine’s Day part for her female friends (to get over their boyfriend blues<\/strong>). And believe it or not, but it’s not even celebrated on Valentine’s Day. Nope…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Galentine’s is Feb. 13th instead!<\/h2>\n

\n(Just wait until that falls on a Friday<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

\nAnd this year, “Galentines<\/strong>” is actually being picked up by one of the biggest jewelers<\/strong> in the country: Kay Jewelers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nSo much so, in fact, that they have entire ads dedicated <\/strong>towards gifts for gal pals.<\/p>\n
