The stones are Vivid, Deep, Rich Red Rubies that look like Pigeon Blood or <strong>Pomegranates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nBut, like all mines, just because the Ruby is Burmese, <strong>doesn&#8217;t mean it&#8217;s Good Quality!<\/strong> Ruby Quality will vary from Stone to Stone, and High Grades of similar Color can come from Vietnam or Africa as well (among the many other world-wide mines).<\/p>\n<p><h2>Ruby Color<\/h2>\n<p>\nMedium-Dark toned Rubies are <strong>the Most Preferred<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Color of the Ruby is actually the most Significant Factor when it comes to Pricing and Cost.<\/p>\n<p>\nRubies come from a <strong>Parent Rock called Corundum<\/strong>. Corundum in it&#8217;s Pure State is <strong>Transparent or Clear<\/strong> (Colorless).<\/p>\n<p>\nWhen traces of Chromium get mixed with the rock during creation, <strong>it makes the Corundum RED<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nCorundum is also what Sapphires come from. This Rubeus Stone has been <strong>mentioned in the Bible 4 times<\/strong>. It&#8217;s also associated with <strong>Wisdom <\/strong>and <strong>Beauty<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p><h2>Pleochroism<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe interesting thing about Ruby (and Sapphire as well) <strong>is the fact that it&#8217;s Pleochroic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nPleochroism is where the Stone can look like <strong>Two Different Colors<\/strong> or more when viewed from two different angles.<\/p>\n<p>\nFrom the top view, it could look <strong>Red<\/strong>. It&#8217;s just the nature of the stone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Birthmarks like these are common<\/strong>, add Personality to the Stone, help Deepen the Hues, and makes it Easier to Identify the Gem.<\/p>\n<p>\nBut, if the Stone has too many of these Inclusions in the stone, the Stone can become <strong>Weak and even Brittle!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><h2>Ruby on the Moh&#8217;s Scale<\/h2>\n<p>\nYou shouldn&#8217;t have to ever worry too much about the Durability and Hardness of Ruby in most Stones though. <strong>It&#8217;s the Second Most Hardest Stone there is on the Face of the Earth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nRubies (and Sapphires) are a 9 on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/what-is-the-mohs-scale\/\">the Moh&#8217;s Scale of Hardness<\/a> (<strong>Diamond is a 10<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>\nBecause of this, they are Very Durable and make the Perfect Stone to wear every day. <strong>They can take Quite a Beating!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Their Toughness overpowers every other Colored Gemstone nature makes. These Stones are generally very Small and Bluish Purple in Hue.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Not Very Popular or Pretty!<\/h2>\n<p>Burmese Rubies really are what Gem Collectors Desire (<strong>Rubies of Mogok in Upper Burma<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Environment in Burma is <strong>Ideal for Ruby Growth<\/strong>. It&#8217;s the perfect setting of Low Silicon Content, combined with the Right Temperature and Right Pressure.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Viola!<\/h2>\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s Amazing what a little Corundum can produce.<\/p>\n<p>\nCorundum is actually a Mixture of <strong>Aluminium and Oxide<\/strong> (<strong>Al2O3<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>\nSadly, all Rubies don&#8217;t look like this, and most of the Jewelry Stores today carry <strong>Man-Made Rubies<\/strong> which are Flux Grown (the <strong>Hydrothermal Method<\/strong>). This Process Mimics what Nature does to Produce a Ruby. <strong>It just Bakes it in a Lab<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe result is a Nice Looking Stone, with the same Chemical Composition as a Real Stone, but they are more Transparent and more Cleaner&#8230; <strong>Much more Clean!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><h2>TOO CLEAN!<\/h2>\n<p>\nThis is the Easiest Way to tell <strong>the difference between a Real Ruby and a Man-Made Ruby<\/strong>. If the Ruby is totally clean of all Inclusions and if it looks Glassy, Really Transparent or even <strong>Plasticy<\/strong>&#8230; it&#8217;s more than likely Man-Made!<\/p>\n<p>These stones are still pretty though. <strong>And they are Half the Price!<\/strong> ($300 or $3,000???
