\nHere’s how it goes…<\/p>\n

\nI’ll show you a diamond<\/strong>, and your goal is to see if you can correctly identify<\/strong> the color and clarity<\/strong> of that stone.<\/p>\n

Sound simple enough?<\/h2>\n

\nIt could be, especially since I’ll help you out<\/strong> (Just like I would compare stones<\/strong> with you inside the jewelry store). :)<\/p>\n

\nIf you’re the slightest bit familiar with the 4c’s<\/strong>, this may be a breeze. No matter what, I’m sure you’ll be able to narrow it down pretty darn close<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo let’s take a look at the diamond first, it’s a 1.01 princess cut<\/strong>, as seen here:<\/p>\n

\nLet me help you out. Let me give you some visual aides <\/strong>that can steer you in the right direction.<\/p>\n

Diamond Color:<\/h2>\n

\nColor can be tricky sometimes, since slight variations<\/strong> can shift a stone from one grade to another<\/strong>, and even one entire range<\/strong> to another…<\/p>\n

Take a peek at this diamond color chart…<\/h2>\n

As you can see from the image, “Colorless<\/strong>” is 3 grades: D, E, or F<\/strong>. “Near Colorless<\/strong>” is 4 grades: G, H, I, or J<\/strong>. The color is definitely one of these top 7 color grades<\/strong> (the most popular colors<\/strong> found in stores today). <\/p>\n

\nDoes that make color a little bit easier to distinguish?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diamond Clarity:<\/h2>\n

\nClarity can be hard to tell, since inclusions can be white <\/strong>(harder to see), or black <\/strong>(obvious to the eye).<\/p>\n

Do you have a wild guess?<\/h2>\n

\nLook at the diamond clarity chart<\/strong> below to narrow it down…<\/p>\n

\nGood. Save it<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nFor there’s one more thing I want you to guess<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

The Price!<\/h2>\n

\nThe price?<\/strong> Yes… Color and clarity are 2 main factors in the price of a diamond. i.e. Can you see inclusions<\/strong> or not? Can you see color<\/strong> in the diamond? <\/p>\n

\nBut another factor is how it actually looks<\/strong>. It’s appearance to the eye. How beautiful <\/strong>it is. i.e. Is the stone dark?<\/strong> Does it have a lot of sparkle? How does it react with light when tilted<\/strong>??? <\/p>\n

\nBy visually comparing how this princess cut faces up with other princess cuts, you may be able to pick a target price range that seems somewhat appropriate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
