\nEmeralds are a green variety of Beryl<\/strong> (the same parent rock as Aquamarine<\/strong>). It’s one of the most sought out gemstones on Earth. The Emerald Cut<\/h2>\n

\nEmerald Cuts are modern versions of the Step Cut<\/strong>, which was one of the first cut stones known to man.<\/p>\n

\nIt was easier to cleave and slice by hand back then, because it had few facets and NO CURVES!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNormally cut in a rectangular shape<\/strong>, you can also find these octagon shaped stones square <\/strong>as well.<\/p>\n

\nThe cut corners allow setting the stones into mountings with baskets and prongs<\/strong> much easier. The steps on the stones look like pyramid steps<\/strong>, and they give a gemstone great balance between light and dark contrast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It’s Gotta be Clean<\/h2>\n

\nBecause the Emerald Cut has fewer facets on the table, it shows flaws and imperfections much easier<\/strong>. Meaning, you’ll normally need a higher clarity stone<\/strong> or everything will show (really important when buying an Emerald Cut Diamond<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\nThis is why lab created gemstones have become so popular<\/strong> (and cheaper <\/strong>than real Emeralds). They just look perfect and flawless.<\/p>\n
