\nA guessing game<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll show you 2 diamonds<\/strong>, side by side. Both with the exact same carat weight, clarity and cut…<\/p>\n

\nYour goal is to see if you can visibly tell which diamond has the better color<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sound Easy?<\/h2>\n

\nIt could be<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nOne diamond is D color<\/strong> (the best color in the World), the other is G<\/strong> (the top of the near-colorless color range).<\/p>\n

Can you Choose D from G?<\/h2>\n

Easy, or Difficult?<\/h2>\n

\nYou may be able to tell them apart like this, but trust me, if they were not side by side<\/strong>, you’d have a hard time figuring which is which. <\/p>\n

\nThat’s because both diamonds are actually “white<\/strong>“. One is pure-white (D), the other fine-white (G). And to the eye, they really are very close<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nMost people can’t tell the difference even when it’s pointed out<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nThis is why near-colorless diamonds (G, H, I, J<\/strong>) are so popular. They face up white<\/strong>, and are much cheaper than pure-white stones.<\/p>\n

So HOW are they Graded?<\/h2>\n

\nDiamonds are graded from the bottom view<\/strong>. Through the pavilion (pointed base of the diamond). That way, no facets or brilliance will mask the true identity<\/strong> of the diamond.<\/p>\n

\nTake another peek at these 2 diamonds again from a side view<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

Can you tell which Diamond is Whiter now?<\/h2>\n

\nAs you can see, it’s much easier to spot<\/strong> (especially with my color chart). The right is whiter. That’s the D<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nFrom the top-down position, they are similar…<\/p>\n

Well, all except for the PRICE!<\/h2>\n

\nThis is why near-colorless diamonds are the best selling stones on Earth<\/strong>… (Plus the fact that there’s more of them, they’re in abundance; colorless diamonds are rare!<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

But what matters more…<\/h2>\n

\nWhat matters MORE than color?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The CUT!<\/h2>\n

\nOf course<\/strong>. A triple excellent cut (True Hearts Ideal<\/a>) diamonds mean way more than any hue a diamond could ever have (and an excellent True Hearts Ideal cut also makes the diamond appear whiter<\/strong> as well).<\/p>\n

Cut is what makes the Diamond SPARKLE!<\/h2>\n

\nAnd that blinding brilliance <\/strong>and fire <\/strong>and scintillation <\/strong>and life <\/strong>is priceless<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That’s what really matters!<\/h2>\n
