It’s Lit!<\/h2>\n

\nI ordered this loupe from Amazon<\/strong> because I wanted to see if it really worked<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nI was not disappointed!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo here is my review of the 10x triplet LED illuminated jeweler’s loupe<\/strong>… (As sold here on Amazon<\/a>)<\/p>\n

\nFirst off, if you read any of my posts here, you’ll see that I’m a huge fan of the Belomo 10x Loupe<\/a>. In fact, I say that it’s the best loupe money can buy<\/strong> (because of the viewing area, the optic properties, and the distortion correction)…<\/p>\n

But…<\/h2>\n

\nHow does it stack up<\/strong> to this illuminated light? Well…<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love it just as much!<\/h2>\n

\nI didn’t realize what adding light to a magnified world<\/strong> would do (even though I should have known, for I use a gem microscope<\/a> daily). I was amazed<\/strong>. Truly. It’s so much more effective than regular handheld loupes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Light is everything!<\/h2>\n

\nThis particular loupe has a 21mm optic lens that automatically corrects for a good viewing field, with just a slight warping around the edges (as all macro lenses<\/strong> have). You get a little fish-eye effect<\/strong>, which is normal in up-close magnification and photography.<\/p>\n

This is what comes in the package:<\/h2>\n

\nThe light-up loupe comes with a leather carrying case<\/strong>, and a tool that opens up the battery case<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nDo note that this loupe holds 3 batteries<\/strong> to operate the powerful lights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now onto the good stuff…<\/h2>\n

\nI used 4 pieces of jewelry<\/strong> as a comparison; 2 watches<\/strong>, a diamond earring<\/strong>, and a wood inlay ring<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI tried to get the same images<\/strong> using both my Belomo loupe<\/a> and the light-up loupe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was NOT easy!!!<\/h2>\n

\nI literally had to rubber band it<\/strong> to my iPhone 8<\/strong> (aligning it with the camera lens), and using that to snap the photos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nIt was the best way that I knew to illustrate the differences<\/strong> between the two loupes.<\/p>\n

It’s still not an accurate representation!<\/h2>\n

\nThe problem <\/strong>I ran into was this;<\/p>\n

The focal length!<\/h2>\n

\nUsually you hold a loupe right up to your eye<\/strong> to focus on the item. But with the iPhone, I couldn’t do that<\/strong>. I had to move back a couple of inches for the camera to focus onto the jewelry. And moving back gave more blind spots<\/strong> (out of focus areas), and it also allowed more of the LED lights to blur and reflect off<\/strong> the jewelry. It was difficult to mimic the way that the eye sees them. Jewelry is shiny and highly reflective as it is, and under magnification it was a definite challenge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I did the best that I could.<\/h2>\n

\nOn the left side is my trusty Belomo loupe<\/a> and the images it took. On the right side, the light-up LED loupe<\/a> and those images.<\/p>\n

So here’s my take…<\/h2>\n

\nThe images look pretty similar<\/strong>, yes. But up to your eye, the light makes a world of difference<\/strong>. It makes the objects much easier to see<\/strong>, makes the colors and details jump out<\/strong>, and it absolutely makes the diamond come to life<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

\nUp-close, this diamond was jaw-dropping!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It blew me away!<\/h2>\n

\nI couldn’t believe how much more the diamond popped with light<\/strong>. It showed off the beauty and the sparkle, and it made it so much easier to inspect<\/strong> any imperfections in the stone.<\/p>\n

So would I recommend this loupe?<\/h2>\n

\nHell YES!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe lights are magnificent. Especially in low-light scenarios<\/strong>. And if your eyesight is poor<\/strong>, or you require more light<\/strong> to see or read, then you’ll love this loupe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nBuy the loupe<\/strong>, it’s inexpensive<\/strong> (under $20 at the time of this post), but it really works. And once you view your diamonds… you’ll love them even more!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s worth every penny.<\/h2>\n
