I’ve talked about diamond perfection before…<\/p>\n

Does it exist?<\/h2>\n

\nWhat classifies “perfection”?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nIs nature truly perfect?<\/p>\n

\nWell, when it comes to diamonds, perfection does exist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAt least, as far as the FTC (Federal Trade Commission<\/a>) says.<\/p>\n

\nThe FTC actually agreed upon a so called “perfect<\/strong>” (as well as a “flawless<\/strong>“) diamond quality many years ago…<\/p>\n

\nAnd that’s not an easy call to make. Because every single diamond is different (no two are ever exact<\/strong>), and there are tons of diamond experts, opinions, aspects, and characteristics to consider.<\/p>\n

\nThings like: <\/strong>the 4 C’s, cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. Along with specific measurements, percentages, polish, symmetry, fluorescence, culet size, girdle thickness, and even blemishes that show up on a flawless diamond (like a natural or a trigon).<\/p>\n

So how does one rate any diamond truly perfect?<\/h2>\n

\nIt’s mind-boggling to think about<\/strong>. Especially since diamonds are only graded under 10x magnification. Which means, if you viewed that same exact “perfect<\/strong>” diamond under stronger magnification, like 20x, or 30x, then guess what happens?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

FLAWS APPEAR!<\/h2>\n

\nSo is it perfect then?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nIt is… If you have the cream of the crop, top of the line, diamond.<\/p>\n

\nThe FTC states here: <\/strong>comments on jewelry guides<\/a>, that for a diamond to be truly “perfect<\/strong>“, and to be called and sold as a “perfect<\/strong>” diamond (without misleading or frauding the public), then the diamond in question must have these exact attributes:<\/p>\n

  1. Flawless Clarity<\/li>\n
  2. D Color<\/li>\n
  3. Perfect Make<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    So what does this all mean?<\/h2>\n

    \nSimple, let me explain…<\/p>\n

    The perfect diamond clarity:<\/h2>\n

    \nFlawless clarity is the best GIA clarity grade<\/strong> a diamond can get… And I’m talking about flawless (FL), not internally flawless (IF)… There’s a difference. <\/p>\n

    \nFlawless is the cleanest and clearest Clarity of Diamond on the face of the earth. <\/p>\n

    \nAnd beyond clarity, comes color…<\/p>\n

    The perfect diamond color:<\/h2>\n

    \nFor a diamond to be called “perfect<\/strong>“, it must have D diamond color<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    \nD color is the best, highest possible color you can get in any diamond. <\/p>\n

    \nD is pure white<\/strong>. Void of any color whatsoever. It really is the best that money can buy.<\/p>\n

    \nLastly…<\/p>\n

    The perfect diamond make:<\/h2>\n

    \nThe “make<\/strong>” of a diamond means proportions, angles, percentages, polish, symmetry… All things related to cut.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \nA perfect make means this: perfect in cut, polish, and symmetry (by GIA standards<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

    \nThe best in all these categories is a rating of “excellent<\/strong>“. So that would actually be triple excellent<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    AGS perfection:<\/h2>\n

    \nGIA is the biggest and best certification company in the World (they wrote the book on diamond grading)… But AGS is second best<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    \nAGS has a little bit different grading system, that many say, goes more in depth with detail. AGS will give their best grades 0’s (which means ideal<\/strong>). So they would give a 0 (zero) in cut, polish, and symmetry (0, 0, 0<\/strong>). <\/p>\n

    \nA stone obtaining 0, 0, 0, would be considered perfect as well (if it also had 0 in clarity, and 0 in color). Perfect proportions will affect the look and feel of a diamond more than any other aspect. It will make you diamond have tons of flashes of brilliance, sparkle and fire. It brings a diamond to life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    \nThese types of cuts are signature cuts that will have those beautiful “hearts and arrows<\/strong>” pattern that everyone knows and loves.<\/p>\n

    They are the diamonds to buy.<\/h2>\n

    \n\"The<\/p>\n

    Perfect carat weight:<\/h2>\n

    \nYou may have noticed that carat weight bears no importance upon the perfect diamond<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    \nSo a perfect diamond can be any carat weight<\/strong> you desire. <\/p>\n

    \nBut I will tell you this…<\/p>\n

    \nThe “dream<\/strong>” carat weight is 1.00 carat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    \nAnd you know what?<\/p>\n

    \nThat sounds perfect to me.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \nJust like these diamonds here!<\/a><\/p>\n
