Why SI2, H?<\/h2>\n

\nSI2, H is one of the most common quality of diamonds<\/strong> found on the market today.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s a nice average <\/strong>quality that faces up good and is very affordable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo let’s take a closer look…<\/strong><\/p>\n

SI2 Clarity:<\/h2>\n

\nDefinition:<\/strong> SI2 clarity is called “Slightly Included Level 2<\/strong>“. It’s the lower portion of the SI clarity range.<\/p>\n

\nThe inclusions found in an SI2 diamond are normally unseen with the bare eye<\/strong> (that’s without the aid of a microscope<\/a> or a 10x jeweler’s loupe<\/a>). But these flaws may be seen from a side view<\/strong> (looking through the pavilion).<\/p>\n

\n\"Define<\/p>\n

\nMost of the time these flaws (which could be clouds<\/strong>, pinpoints, black carbon spots<\/strong>, feathers, fractures<\/strong>, cracks and chips<\/strong>) are not seen at a simple glance. Under scrutiny <\/strong>they are noticed (especially if you have really great eyesight<\/strong>, a diamond with fewer facets; like an Emerald <\/strong>cut, or if the diamond is quite large<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nTo most people, they’d never tell the difference between an SI2 and a much higher clarity, like VS2.<\/p>\n

\nGo one step lower into I1 clarity<\/strong>, and you probably will see flaws<\/strong> with the eye. I clarity means “Included<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

\nSo SI2 is the lowest clarity you can normally go that still presents itself nicely<\/strong>, and doesn’t look poor.<\/p>\n

Word of Advice:<\/h2>\n

\nSince all SI2 diamonds are different, some will look more like I clarity diamonds<\/strong>, and some look more like SI1’s. So it’s wise to view them and magnify them<\/strong>, just to see what’s inside.<\/p>\n

\nTake a look at all these different SI2 diamonds:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\"SI2<\/p>\n

\nThey don’t look alike<\/strong>. So judge them with your own eyes before making any buying decision<\/strong> (this is why I love to view them at James Allen<\/a>, because you can see the real diamonds-not stock photos<\/strong>-from all sides and angles!)<\/p>\n

H Color:<\/h2>\n

\nDefinition:<\/strong> H color is at the higher end of the “Near Colorless<\/strong>” color range. It’s considered a “Fine White<\/strong>” diamond and will normally pass as a white-white diamond (much like a “Colorless<\/strong>” diamond).<\/p>\n

\nEven put side by side with a Colorless stone (D, E, or F<\/strong>), you would have a very hard time telling which was which. Colorless may look whiter, but really, it’s such a slight difference…<\/p>\n

\nWhen you go lower down the scale, into I, J, K, L<\/strong>… the diamonds will start to exhibit a slight yellowish body tone<\/strong>. This is why H or higher is recommended (that’s if you want to stay with a white diamond). Now some people do prefer a diamond with color and think that it adds warmth to the stone<\/strong>, but that’s preference. If you don’t mind it, don’t worry about it.<\/p>\n

\nSticking with H color keeps the cost down<\/strong> (and still give you that same great look<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nBy buying SI2, H, you are buying one of the most inexpensive diamonds<\/strong> there is, without sacrificing much in color or clarity<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\nNow, if you really want to see a difference<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

Look at Cut!<\/h2>\n

\nCut makes all the difference in the world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Buying a Better Cut:<\/h2>\n

\nA better cut makes everything look better<\/strong>. It makes the diamond look bigger<\/strong>, brighter<\/strong>, whiter<\/strong>, it helps hide inclusions, and it gives the diamond more sparkle<\/strong> (regardless of the color or clarity).<\/p>\n

\nA great cut, like “Excellent<\/strong>“, will make a diamond look ultra-beautiful<\/strong>, dazzle and dance with light, and make her eyes twinkle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
