\nWell, you’re in luck, because I have found the biggest diamond<\/strong> you can get for $1,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nMy first stop was Kay Jewelers<\/strong>, one of the biggest retail nationwide chains in the country.<\/p>\n

\nThey had a really good deal (sale ends today; 3\/21\/2019<\/strong>) on this princess cut solitaire<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\n\"Princess<\/a><\/p>\n

\nThe carat weight is huge, 3\/4 carat (although it could only be .69 carat<\/strong>), but the clarity is not good<\/strong>. It’s low. The lowest clarity grade<\/strong> you can buy on the market for a diamond to still be considered a diamond<\/strong>: I3. I3 diamonds generally are not pretty, full of huge inclusions<\/strong>, cracks, chips, carbon spots, clouds… (nothing like the sample diamond they show you in the image).<\/p>\n

\nThe color of their diamond is J, which is pretty standard<\/strong>, and perfectly acceptable for such a large carat weight and price. <\/p>\n

\nBut Kays makes zero mention of the actual cut (other than calling it princess cut), makes no mention of symmetry, polish, fluorescence… Nothing about the proportions at all<\/strong>. And they don’t even mention certification. Bummer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Their stone sells for $1,079.98<\/h2>\n

\n(at the time of this post.)<\/p>\n

\nNow shifting gears…<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLet’s look at the big diamond dealers online<\/strong>, starting with Blue Nile<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\"Blue<\/a><\/p>\n

\nAt Blue Nile you can get this beautiful marquise diamond<\/a>, .57 carats, SI2, F<\/strong> diamond for $1,000<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\nThat’s not a bad diamond at all. Good quality, great color<\/strong> (pure-white is the best), very good cut… And, if you pay by bank wire, it’s actually cheaper<\/strong>. Take a peek:<\/p>\n

\nYou can also get this cushion cut diamond<\/a>, .55 carat, SI1 clarity, E color<\/strong>, very good cut for $1,000:<\/p>\n

\n\"Blue<\/a><\/p>\n

\nBoth of these two diamonds are way better clarity and cut<\/strong> than Kays (by a mile). And, they are both certified by GIA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But you can get bigger and better:<\/h2>\n

\nHeading over to James Allen<\/a>, using the selection tools (choose $1,000 min and max<\/strong>, and sorting carat weight-high to low<\/strong>), you get one big beautiful diamond; This .72 cushion cut diamond<\/a>, SI1, K<\/strong> for just a thousand (and actually, before I could even post this, the price dropped another $20<\/strong>):<\/p>\n

\n\"James<\/a><\/p>\n

\nWith a clean clarity, excellent polish<\/strong> and very good symmetry, this diamond is huge and cheap<\/strong>. And if you pay bank wire<\/strong>, it’s even cheaper!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nYou can also get this .71 emerald cut diamond<\/a>, SI1, K<\/strong> for $1,000:<\/p>\n

\n\"James<\/a><\/p>\n

Finding these diamonds is easy:<\/h2>\n

\nOpen up all of the selectors, set the dollar amount to $1,000<\/strong>, and sort them by carat weight. It brings up diamonds like these:<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\"Biggest<\/a><\/p>\n

So buying a diamond is simple:<\/h2>\n

\nJust pick a stone you like<\/strong>, have it set into a solitaire mounting<\/strong> (starting at $240 here<\/a>), and you’ll have yourself one beautiful engagement ring<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThey are all $1,000 (right now, depending on availability<\/strong>). Good diamonds, big diamonds, certified…<\/p>\n
