\nI’m talking with my sister the other day…<\/p>\n

\nShe’s telling me that she thinks her daughter of 19 might be gay<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI ask her why <\/strong>she thinks that.<\/p>\n

\nShe says she has a feeling. Just the way she interacts with boys and girls. That, and the fact she’s never had a real boyfriend<\/strong>. It makes her wonder.<\/p>\n

“Does that bother you?” I ask.<\/h2>\n

\n“No<\/strong>,” she replied. “I would support her either way<\/strong>, but it would be nice to know. That lifestyle is not an easy lifestyle<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

\n“Are there any other signs you see?<\/strong>” I say.<\/p>\n

\n“Like what?<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\n“I don’t know, Facebook, Instagram, gifts, messages, pride rainbows<\/strong>…”<\/p>\n

\n“Rainbows?<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\n“Yeah, you never heard that the rainbow is a symbol for gay pride?<\/strong> It stands for diversity<\/strong>. It all started with the gay marches and parades<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

“I never knew.”<\/h2>\n

\n“You see rainbows everywhere in the gay community (I saw a lot on my trip to San Francisco<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The rainbow stands for unity<\/strong>, movement<\/strong>, equality<\/strong>, and worth<\/strong>. It’s a network that supports gays, lesbians, transgenders, multi-genders, no-genders, family members, loved ones, everyone<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

\nI kept going, “Don’t you ever see rainbow flags on the back of people’s cars?<\/strong> Rainbows are everywhere once you start to notice them; hats, shoes, shirts, tattoos, Will and Grace<\/strong>…”<\/p>\n

My sister may be in the dark…<\/h2>\n
