And if you just look a few of the 4C&#8217;s, <strong>you&#8217;re bound to miss much<\/strong>. It&#8217;s 72 points versus a standard 75 points.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe color is <strong>near colorless (I)<\/strong>, and you can see it does have a <strong>slight yellow cast<\/strong> to the diamond.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe cut is &#8220;good&#8221; (<strong>which is not great<\/strong>). It doesn&#8217;t exhibit the brilliance and sparkle of the diamond next to it (which has an <strong>excellent <\/strong>cut).<\/p>\n<p>\nThe diamond on the left also has <strong>medium fluorescence<\/strong>, which can make a diamond appear <strong>odd or hazy<\/strong> under natural sunlight.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Plus, the clarity is I clarity<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong>I clarity has eye-visible black carbon spots<\/strong> in the stone that you can see without magnification.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe other diamond is pure-white (<strong>ultra bright<\/strong>), SI1 clarity (<strong>no visible flaws<\/strong> to the bare eye), and has <strong>triple excellent<\/strong> grades in cut, polish and symmetry.<\/p>\n<p>\nSo when you compare everything, you&#8217;ll see why one diamond is <strong>priced over double the price<\/strong> over another.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Even certification matters<\/h2>\n<p>\nIf one of those diamonds above was <strong>certified by IGI<\/strong>, you&#8217;d see even a bigger difference in both appearance and price (GIA is the best and <strong>most trusted<\/strong> diamond reporting company in the world. <strong>IGI is questionable<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>\nPrice is determined by: <strong>cut<\/strong>, color, <strong>clarity<\/strong>, carat weight, <strong>certification<\/strong>, polish, <strong>symmetry<\/strong>, and fluorescence&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><h2>As well as the visual appearance.<\/h2>\n<p>\nThis is because some diamonds, <strong>even with the best grades<\/strong>, still don&#8217;t look as good as <strong>lower quality diamonds<\/strong>. Some just display better and have more brilliance and fire. <strong>It&#8217;s nature<\/strong>. It&#8217;s birthmarks. Same with <strong>fluorescence<\/strong>, symmetry and <strong>certification<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nUsually people are fine with a diamond, as long as it doesn&#8217;t have any <strong>glaring faults<\/strong> that take away from <strong>the beauty of the stone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Sparkle is the #1 trait<\/h2>\n<p>\nMany diamonds, of any clarity or color can <strong>face up fine<\/strong> and have beauty and scintillation. <strong>Let your eyes be the judge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nTo really see what&#8217;s acceptable, and what you&#8217;d approve of, <strong>compare diamonds side by side<\/strong>. That&#8217;s the best way to conclude if the added price is worth it.<\/p>\n<p>\nIf you don&#8217;t see <strong>a massive difference<\/strong> with your own eyes, then save the money and put it towards <strong>a stunning engagement ring setting<\/strong> instead (like a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesallen.com\/engagement-rings\/pave\/?a_aid=JSDG\">pave mounting<\/a> or a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesallen.com\/engagement-rings\/halo\/?a_aid=JSDG\">halo mounting<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\nLike those two diamonds above&#8230; <\/p>\n<p><h2>Is the cleaner stone worth double the price?<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong>Maybe<\/strong>. The cheaper diamond does have <strong>huge black flaws<\/strong> that are very visible when you tilt and rotate the stone. Does that matter to you?
