It’s so true.<\/p>\n

\nIf you’re buying a diamond, like in an engagement ring or a cocktail ring, then chances are good that that diamond will be flawed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

FLAWED?<\/h2>\n

\nAnd when I saw “flawed<\/strong>“, I mean eye-visible flaws<\/strong>, as in cracks, lines, fractures, clouds, pin-points, chips, and carbon spots.<\/p>\n

\nThis is because of the fact that 75% of all the diamonds sold on the market are of lower quality<\/strong>, which is mainly I clarity stones (I1, I2, and I3).<\/p>\n

\n\"I<\/p>\n

In fact, I clarity literally means “included”.<\/h2>\n

\nSI2 clarity diamonds<\/strong> can also be included in the mix. Because at the right angle (usually from the side view), you can see flaws in an SI2 as well.<\/p>\n

\nSo that’s 4 categories that display flaws…<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAnd these 4 categories make up most <\/strong>of all the diamonds you see in stores today.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s all because Mother Nature is not perfect<\/strong> when she created these diamonds a billion years ago. The carbon got mixed with other elements like iron, boron, nickle, and tons of other minerals. These formed and froze in the stones creating flaws and inclusions which we see with our very own eyes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo the next time you’re in a jewelry store, take a closer look at clarity<\/strong>. You’ll see a lot of I clarity stones (many are used as side stones in rings, as well as earrings, pendants and bracelets).<\/p>\n

\n\"Low<\/p>\n

Lower quality diamonds will be everywhere.<\/h2>\n

\nAnd when you spot them… get closer<\/strong>. You’ll see flaws in the stones. Some will be big black spots, some will look foggy (like chunks of salt), and others will look like they’re cracked in half. <\/p>\n

\nThose are common flaws seen in I clarity stones<\/strong> (so don’t be alarmed).<\/p>\n

\nTo get away from visible flaws, you’ll have to go up higher in the clarity charts. <\/p>\n

\nLook into SI1 clarity<\/a> (or higher), if you want a cleaner stone that doesn’t exhibit imperfections.<\/p>\n

\nYou may be seeing spots…<\/p>\n
