If you can’t see it, don’t waste your money on it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nPut your hard earned greenbacks into something you can see. Unless you just have money to burn<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nBecause when it comes to diamonds, somethings are quite noticeable<\/strong>, and others aren’t<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo let’s look at diamond characteristics<\/strong> that do and don’t make a visual difference<\/strong> (except in your pocketbook<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

1) Diamond Clarity<\/h2>\n

\nAny diamond SI1 or higher<\/strong>, will look identical <\/strong>to the bare eye (no microscope<\/a> or 10x jeweler’s loupe<\/a> needed).<\/p>\n

\nYou could put an SI1 clarity diamond<\/a> up against a flawless diamond<\/a> and you’d never tell them apart (unless you magnified them<\/strong>, like below, and even then it’s still hard to see the differences.)<\/p>\n

\nThis is why SI1 clarity is the best clarity to buy<\/strong>; it’s the most affordable clarity<\/strong> and it looks just like a more expensive diamond (worth double the price<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

2) Diamond Carat Weight<\/h2>\n

\nPoints are hard to see<\/strong>. Thow 95 pennies<\/strong> in a pile on the floor. Now throw 100 pennies<\/strong> in another pile. Can you see any visible difference? NO!<\/strong> Diamond points are the same way. We’re talking about a very small percentage and carat weight, impossible for the eyes to distinguish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It’s called Buying Shy<\/h2>\n

\nIf you purchase a diamond that’s under the mark<\/strong>, like .93, .94, .95<\/a> instead of a full carat; 1.00<\/strong>, you’ll save a lot of money. Compare the two diamonds below:<\/p>\n

\nBig difference in price, right? (Prices good at the time of this post<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nSo buy shy and save your money<\/strong> (put it into the mounting instead).<\/p>\n

3) Diamond Certification<\/h2>\n

\nNow, this is a highly subjective topic<\/strong>, but you don’t need to buy a great quality of diamond that’s certified.<\/p>\n

\nIn fact, you can buy the exact same quality<\/strong> of stone without the fancy paperwork.<\/p>\n

Because certification costs money.<\/h2>\n

\nIt actually adds a couple of hundred dollars<\/strong> onto the price tag. And all that a certificate truly is; is someone else’s opinion<\/strong> about the grade (it’s not a guarantee<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nThis is why many retail stores skip certification<\/strong> and pre-mount their diamonds (solitaire engagement rings<\/strong>). They give you a full appraisal<\/strong> on the ring listing the color, clarity, carat weight… Along with a retail value<\/strong> for insurance purposes.<\/p>\n

\nThese diamonds can be the exact same, with or without the diamond report<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nNow, I’m not really advising buying diamonds that aren’t certified, I’m just saying that you can<\/strong>, and you can save money<\/strong>… as long as you look at the stone and can verify the quality<\/strong> (comparing it with similar stones that are certified).<\/p>\n

4) Diamond Color<\/h2>\n

\nColor is hard to see<\/strong> with the bare eye. Especially since most diamonds on the market are white-ish<\/strong>. But if you put diamonds side by side<\/strong>, you’ll probably notice the difference quickly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nIf you set an E color diamond<\/a> up against an H color diamond<\/a>, you can see the yellowish tint<\/strong> in the H:<\/p>\n

\nBut, if you didn’t see them side by side, you probably would never see the off tone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThis is why G-H colors are advised<\/a>. They’ll look very similar to pure-white diamonds<\/a>, but without the added cost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5) Diamond Cut<\/h2>\n

\nDON’T SKIMP ON CUT!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCut is vital to the beauty <\/strong>of a diamond. Cut gives the diamond sparkle<\/strong>. It allows light to enter, bounce around inside the stone, and return in a million flashes of brilliance and fire<\/strong> (white light and colored light).<\/p>\n

\nThis is why I recommend Ideal Cut diamonds<\/a> (“Excellent<\/strong>” Grades).<\/p>\n

\nAnd, if you truly want the BEST cut possible<\/strong>, then get yourself a True Hearts diamond<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nTrue Hearts are the most perfect cut of diamond that exists<\/strong>. Literally. They are unbelievably beautiful<\/strong>, and exhibit dazzling light effects<\/strong> with stunning scintillation. In other words, they will blow you away<\/strong> (better get your sunglasses).<\/p>\n

Nothing else compares.<\/h2>\n

\nSo there you go, that’s how you spend your money on things you can see<\/strong>, versus things that eat up your savings.<\/p>\n
