\nBut experiments like this will give you a better idea about how quality affects prices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nYou’ll see that there is always a give and take. Strengths and weaknesses to all stones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What escalates the price the most?<\/h2>\n

\nMany believe carat weight<\/strong>, hands down. But others will lean towards clarity<\/strong>. Some cut<\/strong>. How would you rate them? From A-F<\/strong>, see if you can pick the most expensive<\/strong> to the cheapest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI mean, it’s really not even fair<\/strong>. But that’s exactly what you get when you shop and compare diamonds<\/strong>… especially engagement rings. There are thousands of different sizes and quality. It’s mind boggling<\/strong>. So trying to find two exact stones to match<\/strong> is almost impossible.<\/p>\n

What you have to do is narrow down your search.<\/h2>\n

\nNarrow down the quality you’re searching for, what color you want<\/strong>, what clarity (or pick a range<\/strong>), that way it will be easier to compare apples to apples<\/strong>. Otherwise you’ll get a thousand diamonds and have no clue which diamond to choose.<\/p>\n

\nSo in this example, you’ll see that clarity and color (the best of both fields<\/strong>) won out over carat weight. It’s also important to note that the most expensive diamond had zero fluorescence<\/strong> (which is a good thing). And all the other diamonds had some.<\/p>\n

\nSo unless you want to drive all over town, trying to write down every diamond<\/strong>, every quality, every characteristic, you should first narrow down you search<\/strong>. Choose a price range. A budget. Choose a decent quality<\/strong> (like these SI1, F+, .75 Carat diamonds here<\/a>). That way you’ll see which jeweler is giving you the better deal<\/strong>, and the better diamond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
