To this day, there are still some people who feel that Diamonds are a GOOD Investment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI don’t know where they get this from, but I’d surmise it’s because they hear that Diamonds hold their value, or that the value goes up<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\n“A 1.00 Carat Diamond is worth more today<\/strong> than it was when I bought mine!”<\/p>\n

\n“Diamonds are so Expensive!<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\n“I paid $2500 for that Engagement Ring and it’s Appraised for over $5000!<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\nSee what I mean?<\/p>\n

It’s all perception!<\/h2>\n

\nAnd it’s true. A 1.00 Carat Diamond bought today, sells for much more than it did back in 1960. Probably double the price!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo logically it would make sense to think that Diamonds are WORTH what you paid<\/strong>, and that re-selling them would reap you all the money you paid into them. <\/p>\n

\nEspecially when you consider the fact that Diamonds never age!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nDiamonds never wear down or erode. They’ll be “brand new” forever<\/strong> (unless you damage them).<\/p>\n

So they should hold their value…<\/h2>\n

\n\"Are<\/p>\n

\nWell, as most of you know, NO they don’t!<\/strong> It’s kind of like a New Car, once you drive it off the lot, the value drops<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nAnd the reason why a Diamond loses it’s value is pretty simple: <\/p>\n

There is nowhere to sell them!<\/h2>\n

\nThere is no business or individual who will be willing to pay you full price for your valuables<\/strong>. Your stuff is “used<\/strong>” (even though the Diamonds are still “new<\/strong>“).<\/p>\n

\nMake sense?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe only true places out there that buy Diamonds back, are the Jewelers<\/strong> and Pawn Shops<\/strong> (and most of them only like to take them as trade-ins<\/strong>). Then they turn around, clean them up, and resell them back to the public.<\/p>\n

And here’s the real catch…<\/h2>\n

\nJewelers can already buy Diamonds at COST<\/strong>… So then why, in their right minds, would they ever pay MORE <\/strong>than that for your Diamond?<\/p>\n

\nThey wouldn’t!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAnd it’s even difficult to sell them to individuals (like on Craig’s List<\/strong> or eBay<\/strong>), because the item is USED<\/strong> (what Bride wants to wear a Pre-Owned Ring?), and it comes with no transferable Warranties or Policies<\/strong>. You get no Upgrades, no Service Plans, and more than likely that ring is now worn, scratched, dented, or weak.<\/p>\n

So why would it hold it’s value? <\/h2>\n

\nI can already hear the money flying out the window…<\/p>\n

\nDiamonds are NOT an Investment! <\/strong>They won’t appreciate. In fact, you’d be extremely lucky to even get half of what you paid for it<\/strong> (Notice I said “what you paid for it”, meaning the sale price, NOT the Retail Price!<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\nMost consumers only get 20-30% of the price paid<\/strong>. And that’s being generous<\/strong>! <\/p>\n

\nSo don’t go into the Jewelry Store thinking about buying high quality stones for the long haul. Because you WON’T make out!<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nSure they’ll be pretty, you’ll pay an arm and a leg for insurance, and they may even last you a lifetime… But that’s all you get. <\/p>\n

So read my lips:<\/h2>\n

\nDon’t buy them because you want to make a profit!<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Diamonds aren’t like Gold!<\/h2>\n

\nThey’ll eat up your money and spit it out.<\/p>\n

\nAnd all you’re left with is a blinging Diamond<\/strong> that’ll rock your finger.<\/p>\n
