Something different that dazzles and delights.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Colored diamonds:<\/h2>\n<p>\nThere are <strong>two main varieties<\/strong> of colored diamonds in stores today:<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Man-made enhanced colored diamonds<\/li>\n<li>Earth-made fancy colored diamonds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nLet&#8217;s take a closer look at them&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><h2>Man-Made Enhanced Colored Diamonds:<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong>Man-made colored diamonds<\/strong> are when man <strong>enhances <\/strong>a diamond (usually one that has an off-yellow hue to it, like L, M, N color&#8230;), and <strong>intensifies the heat<\/strong> to change the hue of the stone into a lovely bright color, like canary yellows, greens, tropical blues, pinks. The temperature of the heat, and the endurance of the heat applied will <strong>dictate what color<\/strong> the stone changes.<\/p>\n<p>\nThis heating of the stone <strong>mimics Mother Nature<\/strong> (like a giant pressure cooker). The end result is beautiful diamonds of all shades, which not only look great, <strong>but are affordable as well<\/strong>. Just realize that <strong>not all color enhancement is permanent<\/strong>. Make sure you read the fine print, or inquire, because <strong>some colors will fade over time<\/strong>, or lighten when put back in heat (like a <strong>jeweler&#8217;s torch<\/strong>, or a <strong>heated ultrasonic machines<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>\nMost enhanced diamonds on the market today are long lasting and you shouldn&#8217;t have to worry about them. They aren&#8217;t enhanced or altered. The colors are <strong>real and genuine<\/strong> and will never fade or change. They&#8217;ve been in that stone for <strong>over a billion years<\/strong> already, and will be for a billion more.<\/p>\n<p>\nMost of these curious colors are caused by outside forces; minerals, <strong>irons<\/strong>, nitrogen, <strong>boron<\/strong>, hydrogen, that mix with the carbon (like <strong>dye<\/strong>) and affect the tone of the stone to change it into <strong>reds<\/strong>, pinks, <strong>blues<\/strong>, greens, <strong>blacks<\/strong>, yellows, <strong>orange<\/strong>, and so forth.<\/p>\n<p><h2>They are all rare and all expensive.<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong>Fancy color grades (9 of them)<\/strong> appear on the diamond color chart <strong>past Z<\/strong> (actually Z+). They are mainly graded for color and color only (that&#8217;s the only thing that matters). And the grades of fancy colors are determined by <strong>how intense the color is<\/strong> (faint, strong, evenly distributed&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><h2>GIA Fancy Color Grades:<\/h2>\n<p>\n<strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Faint<\/li>\n<li>Very Light<\/li>\n<li>Light<\/li>\n<li>Fancy Light<\/li>\n<li>Fancy (Color Name; Pink, Blue, Green;)<\/li>\n<li>Fancy Intense<\/li>\n<li>Fancy Deep<\/li>\n<li>Fancy dark<\/li>\n<li>Fancy Vivid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nThe more vivid the color, the more rare and expensive. Right now, <strong>pinks and reds are the most rare<\/strong>, and hardest to locate.
