They set the standards (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/the-4-cs-of-diamonds\/\">the 4C&#8217;s<\/a>) that we all use today.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Isn&#8217;t excellent good enough?<\/h2>\n<p>\nWell, <strong>it depends on how much sparkle you want<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\nYou see, how much a diamond sparkles, shines, and illuminates light and fire, <strong>totally depends upon the cut<\/strong>. 100%. It&#8217;s the way the angles, facets and proportions bounce light around to achieve the <strong>maximum amount of life<\/strong> in a stone. A 10% difference in table width is a lot.<\/p>\n<p>\nThese proportions can be narrowed down much further. Tightened to produce <strong>an even better diamond<\/strong> with more sparkle and more brilliance. Hence <strong>Hearts and Arrows was formed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Hearts and Arrows:<\/h2>\n<p>\nHearts and Arrows is a term used for diamonds with <strong>exceptional cut<\/strong>. A cut so precise, so perfect, that it exhibits patterns inside the stone (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2UNf86f\">as seen with a special hearts and arrows scope<\/a>) that show <strong>Arrows from a top view<\/strong>, and <strong>Hearts from an upside-down view<\/strong>. They will only say if the diamond has an inscription that reads Hearts and Arrows, but nothing else. They will grade these exceptional cuts as &#8220;<strong>excellent<\/strong>&#8220;, as that is their <strong>highest grade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nSo when you see &#8220;<strong>excellent<\/strong>&#8221; on a diamond report, you won&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s just an excellent cut, or if it&#8217;s a true Hearts and Arrows.<\/p>\n<p><h2>This is where AGS steps in.<\/h2>\n<p>\nAGS is the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.americangemsociety.org\/\">American Gem Society<\/a>. They pride themselves in <strong>achieving tighter ranges<\/strong> that will show you not only how good the Hearts and Arrows are, but also show you images of the Hearts and Arrows. That&#8217;s the top of the line and <strong>the best on earth<\/strong>. Nothing else will beat it! (as far as cut goes&#8230; for you can always have a <strong>bigger<\/strong> diamond, or a <strong>whiter <\/strong>diamond; D-E-F, or a <strong>cleaner <\/strong>diamond; flawless). But for cut; <strong>Ideal 0 is max. It&#8217;s incredible<\/strong>. It will give you the ultimate sparkle, brilliance, and fire that any diamond can display. <strong>It&#8217;s utterly breathtaking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nYes, Hearts and Arrows are &#8220;excellent&#8221; cut grades, sure.
